Re: Has FFR it lost all tact.

FFR DOES have the community of people who don't really play the game, and make it FFRSpace, but also there is the huge community of FFR players, who actually play the game to be good at it. If it wasn't for all of these players, why would we have all these new features and ranking systems? There wouldn't be a reason for them.

      Voting NO.

Re: Has FFR it lost all tact.

        This thread seems fun.

Well being one of the original users on this website I died a little on the inside when I saw the profile feature kick in and having no watch over the little kiddies posting myspace esque pictures. It's really stupid. The profile should be there to show a picture of two of the actual player and nothing more.

I'd rather lose all of the morons on this website who are just there to whore friends and be retarded and keep valuable members of the forums and actual gaming aspect of this website.

Re: Has FFR it lost all tact.

What I find interesting about those who have voted that FFR is losing its "tact" because of profiles is that almost all of them (if not all of them) utilize the profiles in some way, or in all ways possible. Those users also have their pictures up, and random thoughts ("blogs"), and information about themselves, etc etc. If you really think the profiles are such a bad idea, then how did you make such good use out of them? Seems a tad hypocritical. You should close your profiles to show that you think "FFRSpace" is as bad an idea as you say it is.

I realize the argument here is that people join JUST for the profiles, but if there is some use to be gained from them for the people that DO play the game as well, then they can't be all that bad.

Closeing ones profile. Sounds like an great idea. I've remained silent to ponder all the opinions said and posted thus far.

Re: Has FFR it lost all tact.

I actually wasn't suggesting you do, I just asked why "non-believers" hadn't yet. Your choice though

Another thing about this is that, even if profiles are completely wiped, you are going to have the people that joined this site, played 83 games, decided they didn't like it, but then discover the message board. These people aren't here because of the game anymore. Doesn't this mean we'd have to do away with the message board too?

As long as you have any means of social interaction on a website, there will be people who come around just for that. And that's not a bad thing. There are plenty of nice people here who almost never play the game, but are nice to have around. Heck, some of them are probably staff members.

Having a community is a good thing, and profiles are just another means.

Unlike other sites FFR was purely original, unlike anything the online persona has seen.
Not like those poor porr sites that are for personal reason. You may call this evolution in some sort, but wat waht cost. Let FFR continue to evolve as the human race. Let it pollute and kill itself?
Again I am not puting down the site. Simply the taste of its users, theres no companionship. Noone giveing an guideing hand to one another. It's like an closed book, unable to crack it's binding, for others to read. I have seen nothing commuity wise about FFR.

What and where is the community? Those whom respect and look after new arrivals?

                  Nice point -Yukari-

                  Also.

Your profile aspect is just one part of the site...and it is a part of the site that is rather easy to ignore if you wanted too.

The site is growing in terms of people, something similar to this was inevitable.

The few, or several, or however you wanna phrase how many of those use the profile in such a way you have pointed out, they are NOT the entire FFR community.

The community of FFR overall, in my personal opinion, overshadows these people. I have been a member of the site for nearly three years, and I can honestly say, no, FFR is not losing its credit. The majority of the community outweighs the few of the community that bring it down.

I do enjoy the game, but I must say, I would have never had the motivation or the slightest bit of eagerness to play had I not seen the people who have been playing for years. I must thank the FFR community and the great staff with a great personality. Thanks for everything guys.
