I would love to play a really really long song, but even if the idea was heavily supported it wouldn't happen for a long time because of the maximum amount of time a song can be right now (8 minutes) stated by nestlekwik. The memory would have to be extended to hold almost 4 times more fps. Not going to happen any time soon.

I like the idea, but... *lots of thoughts below*
People wonder why I play so many games a day. It's because I miss a lot of arrows when trying to FC or AAA a song. Today, I had an AAA after around 100 tries. It was a 1:44 "For Beginners" song.
Now we're talking about a HOUR-LONG song?! 3600 seconds of pure nightmare! We'll need four extra difficluty levels (harder than "For Gurus only") just to class it! And a new song category. Imagine : you're scrolling the song category wheel: Rock, Arcade, Funk, Dance2, Dance, ... and then "Impossible".
Peope like me, who have trouble getting AAA's, will have to avoid that song at all costs.
Loading it will take forever. You could get ten million extra poitns by playing other songs while the Hour-Long loads.
It will also be WAY too risky because of outside events. Let me explain :
Ever missed a FC because the phone rang? Or because something attracted your attention? Outside events can easely make you miss a 60 seconds song. Now we're talking 3600 seconds.
Failing in the last five minutes will be VERY frustrating. Also, if you find yourself unable to get past a part, you'll have to play THE ENTIRE song EVERY time you want to try the hard part again.
There might be a way to finsih it though : gathering all your friends to your home, and let each one play for a few minutes before changing. Playing by yourself will result in death most likely.
