Re: FFR Playing Style and Hand Position Guide

Some of your "in-depth look" info is a bit misleading or vague.

Saying something like "spread is the easiest to PA or PFC with" doesn't work, since pa comes with the player, not the style. a lot of indexers have great accuracy.

also, rolls are MUCH MUCH easier on spread than with any other style.

you also should mention that a huge point of playing spread is
    a. jumpstream is really only masterable with spread
    b. true speed is only really masterable with spread
    c. the vast majority of files are made for spread today
    squirrel--it's whats for dinner.

      INDEX!!!! I'll help you out.

      Pros:

Rolls and Staircases are easier to do, by this I mean easier to learn but may not be as fast for experienced players
You can do streams very fast.
      Easier to learn jumps
Starting out will bump up performance immediatley
      Very good PA
      Good with jacks
Easy with all types of trills

      Cons:
Only good with special stream patterns
Usually isn't as fast as doing rolls as spread

Re: FFR Playing Style and Hand Position Guide

Spread and Index are the two best ways to go, they're also the most popular, everything else is valid but hard to use, rather unneccessary, and no pros use those, spread is probably best for noobies

Rolls and staircases are easier on index?

          No way.

Only things that are easier with index are jacks, trills, and PA, IMO.

          P.S. What about pettanko?

No, I play spread, and rolls and staircases are wayyy easier for me when you have a finger on each key.

Well index is really good for them aswell as spread. I'm sure that it is hard to do rolls one hand though.

Index? Btw, for spread, a lot of ppl use (<v86) left and down from keypad, 8 and 6 from num pad.

To get really technical (probably too technical, sorry), it's Lawn Wake IV. And... FOTBB and OMW are fast songs, but I'm not sure if you're looking for a specific kind of fast or just fast in general... or if you're going to leave it like that, then you should probably remove the ">.<" and make it "[Fill in fast song here]

Rolls and Staircases are easier than some other styles
Rolls and Staircases are easier than in some other playing styles. Although I have never played index, it seems unlikely because rolls and staircases are hard one-handed, and in the worst case only one finger has to switch keys, whereas in index, both fingers are switching keys all the time, vastly increasing room for error. I think rolls and staircases would be the hardest for indexers to master. But, I can't say that, because I've never tried index. Indexers, what do you think?
Starting out will bump up performance immediatley
immediately. I'm also not exactly sure what this is supposed to mean. Unless customstuff meant: "Starting out playing index will bump up performance immediately. In that case, we could say the same is true with spread.
                          Four Fingers
When I briefly tried four fingering before I made this account, I played on the arrow keys, kind of like this, but with left index on left arrow, left middle on up arrow, right index on down arrow, and right middle on right arrow. This was the most comfortable and least crammed position for me, but then again, I may be alone in this.
                          Easy to FC with.
                          Easy to FC songs with.

I noticed you had highlighted some terms from the picture dictionary in blue and linked others, but left others in plain text. I would suggest some sort of consistency throughout the whole post. It could be just highlighting, just linking, or linking the first occurence of each term, then highlighting the rest. Finally, you could just link the first occurence of each term then leave the rest as plain text.

EDIT: You finished editing the index section before I finished posting this. Good job.

Yeah. I'm linking/highlighting them as I come across them. I am only linking the ones that will be understandable with only a picture. (Patterns)
