Darkshark, think of hopscotch. You'd definitely be way better at it just walking on the squares, but it's more fun to hop on them. Then again, some people prefer to walk on them, walk backwards on them, (spread, index, etc.), etc.

lol, this isn't hopscotch. for a more accurate analogy, think of DDR. you'd definitely be way better at it just using two feet, but its way more fun to use one foot. think of all the extra exercise you'd be getting. you can easily be JUST as good as with two feet; you'd just need to practice a tiny bit more!

i use 1 hand and i cant do very fast songs. i have tried 2 hands but my left hand isnt very fast lol. with 1 hand its annoying doing up + down. i have to move my index finger to down then press up with my middle finger.

Obviously it is better to play spread, from what I can see from all the replies. One hand, even though fun or w/e, has a limit, and that limit can be broken with spread. So you might as well (if you plan to get really good or in the top leagues...) to play spread. If you plan to just have fun temporarily, go ahead n play one hand.

I used to play one-handed even after I knew about spread because I thought of it like any other video game. It's like playing Devil May Cry 3 on hard even though you could beat it so much more easily on easy. I started playing spread eventually, but I still don't make fun of one-handers like darkshark is..

I play with my right hand; three fingers, and mostly Standard-Very Difficult songs. Yes, they are getting much harder, but that is only to be expected. Doing Up-Downs are not as difficult now as before (getting used to it) but staircases are much, much harder then ever before. I was thinking of trying another way to play, however, after trying a spread I decided I like one-handed better. It's a lot more challenging for me, and I'm not one to back down from challenges so easily. XD
