Starfalcon seems to be able to take simplistic songs and make them fun (Kagami in particular).

Pretty meh day otherwise. I want to see some hard dore/sulfer files already. :/

hehe kagami reminds me of benny files, don't exactly fit the music but are still fun

Lost was okay. Nothing note-worthy, but fun, so I guess it's a good addition. Didn't play the others.

I think that's how FFRmas is going, getting harder gradually.

Underground: I didn't really like the steps or the song. It seems a lot longer than it really is because of the repetitive parts.

Matador: I may be weird, but I found this more fun when sightreading. Good steps, good music, but I can't figure out how the steps match up with the music.

Indigo: I felt this was understepped. Don't forget the background music!

Lost: Moar aroz nead'd, but it was fun. If only the entire song had the difficulty of the hardest part...

Read the Mind: Wow, appropriately placed minijacks? Those exist?

                Floating Bridge: wtf lyrics

FC'd everything above except Matador, because I suck. I want some FMO's and FGO's.

Edit: I hated Forsaken Neon, but now that I play it again I realize that the jack isn't all that bad. Just gotta get better at stream to FC it.

Day 4 - Dot Matrix Hero’s Fantasia Syndrome on Beaker Sunset
Posted in Flash Flash Revolution, Game Announcements, Simfiles, Song of the Week on December 17th, 2007

Four more files for everyone today. Yay! Dot Matrix Hero is an 8-bit mix by Sabrepulse with a bit of a DnB feel. The 2nd half is mostly from Super Mario Land 1, but I don’t recognize any of the other games in it. The song is 190bpm, so 4-framers are unavoidable… 27 of them. Stepped by ElectricWerewolf, it’s a 10 footer with 1000 notes on the dot.

Fantasia is a Happy song by our resident happy artist, Smiley. Usual fair for a Smiley tune, it’s full of 8th chains and 8th jumps, with a few 16ths thrown in for good measure. Also, no shocker, the stepfile is by Eastsideman09, who has the corner on the Kyle Ward market, it seems. File is a low 8 footer.

Beaker Sunset is our 3rd addition from the Alphabasic collection of Benn Jordan, aka The Flashbulb. More in line with Do Not Sex To This than Lawn Wake IV, this file comes in at as a 6 footer for 16th bursts to the DnB sections, but mostly 4ths to everything else. Of course, just like DNSTT… the file is by l Endorphin l.

Finally, Syndrome is our first song in FFR by Youaremyfavoritefood. He has the distinction of being the artist in FFR with the most letters in his name (of those with only 1 word names), passing Wickedawesomeful. The song is a pretty short and straightforward techno piece, which disappoints me a bit, because it’s good… but it ends way too soon. Anyway, the stepfiler is BEN.(SPEIRS) 7.5, who has the distinction of having the worst username to have to type out repeatedly of all time. File itself is a 7.

Once again, all files can be found in Hip-Hop currently. Discuss here.

Re: 2nd Annual FFRmas Discussion Thread

First time I AAA a song first!!!!! And it was a very challenging! W00t! I forgot to SS the AAA, so I booed out and SS the first AAA on the high score board...

I probably won't ever get a chance like that again... good thing I woke up at 5AM to play... XD

I couldn't recognize which Mario game this comes from... I fail... DX

Dot Matrix Hero: I didn't quite get the stepchart. Probably just me... Looking at my replay, I take that back. Good stepfile.

Fantasia: I think I hit the jumps on the orange bursts earlier than the music to get my sightread AAA... Probably my imagination too...

                    Syndrome: No comment.

Beaker Sunset: I love the song. Not many songs like this in the easier ranges... Reminds me of Kirby. Good avoidance of repetitive steps.

it's right in the permissions thread in the permissions forum. anything off of alphabasic label, which is like... 1 album + lawn wake ep. maybe the new album too, although not as comfortable with that yet.

Woo AAA'd 3/4 tonight. Not too shabby.

I really liked Dot Matrix Hero. I'm terrible at VC songs, but that was fun regardless.

                              I love FFRmas.

I love Sabrepulse, I noticed we've had permission to use his stuff for a while now but i'm really happy we finally have at least one song up

Now we just need to put that Enter Shikari permission to use.
