won't please everyone. oh... btw... i didn't use any songs from the most recently queue'd batch. still had ~100 songs before then, so i haven't even moved them into my queue folder. figured i'd only use older queue'd songs.
No. If you want technical files, where notes are perfectly pitch relevant. And if you want layered simfiles, then I suggest you go play stepmania. FFR is not stepmania, and it never will be. If you don't like the way these FFR files are coming out, then I think you know where to go.
I am not here to necessarily bitch about Forsaken Neon. It may be a good file, and it may be a bad file. What it really is, is not up for me to decide. But I will say it is not a bad simfile because it is not pitch relevant, or whatever you want to do with simfiles. The only reason we have judges is to make sure absolute dump files do not get into the game. We do not care for pitch relevancy, layering, or whatever you guys want to say to make this game more like stepmania. Nor will we ever, most likely.
I find it funny how the only people that don't have a problem with the file, are the people that have been here for years. It is only the people that have joined after 2005 that seem to be with the intention of making this game be less unique than what it is. So if you're one of these people... then I suggest you give up on trying to change this game, or leave.
I completely agree. I personally loved the file.

"Oh, just my cock." Replied Foil.
"That just will not do." was keywii's response as she lunged for the scissors, pulled the blades apart, and clamped them down on the base of foil's shaft. Blood start gushing out of the wound where his penis used to be.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Yelled Foil in horror.
"Don't worry. I'm a wizard" uttered Keywii. And with that, Foil's penis grew back.

Putting technical files in to FFR would make it more like SM? But because you say FFR will never be like SM, we're not allowed to have more correct simfiles in FFR? It seems that's what you're saying. (Pitch relevancy is important. If two songs had the same rhythms but different pitch... If there was no pitch relevancy, files for the two songs would be exactly the same even though the songs aren't exactly the same.)

What it really is is a simfile you created. So you could have made it better (in terms of having fewer people dislike your file. I realize that it's hard to make a file "better" for everyone when people's opinions differ greatly). Pitch relevancy would have helped. Not being pitch relevant doesn't constitute a bad file, but it decreases the chances for it to be a good file.

There have been many files that aren't absolute dump that have been rejected.

You should care for pitch relevancy and layering. And we're not trying to make it more like stepmania, we're just trying to get higher quality files in to the game.

I joined during 2005. So, uh... yeah. ... And you're saying low-quality files makes a game unique? Definitely not in a good way. Having better files will change the whole game? No, it will still be FFR.
P.S. We're trying to make the game more like StepMania? If I'm not mistaken, four-and-lower framers don't work well with FFR, and are much better suited for SM. And I believe your most recent file has quite a few incorrect instances of these.
P.P.S.
Now for what I was going to say before Rebirth posted what he did...
So you wouldn't have to read my rant on Forsaken Neon without willingly clicking the link to its location, I stuck it as a .png in my photos here.
As for Teh Tricky Techno, I enjoyed it. I almost couldn't stop playing. It was so trick (for me)! Hahaa. The tricky patterns made me laugh more than it made me mad because of the song name. Sure, some patterns could have been changed to make it easier, but it's not bad how it is. When the song repeats the second time, and there's more at those jump things... I think it's nice how you distinguished this by changing the pattern. It's just too bad the song is so repetitive. Makes it harder for someone to like a file for it.
P.P.P.S.
Could a stepfile for an uncut version of Forsaken Neon be accepted as a full-length version and not be judged as a V2?

It's the parts that push FFR to the limits for no reason that make the file bad, not a lack of technicality.
You make a file in 10 minutes. Expect it to play like a file that took 10 minutes to make, and expect us to bitch accordingly.
Day 2 - Underground Love for the Matador
Posted in Flash Flash Revolution on December 15th, 2007
I really can’t help the titles… it just fit so well. Anyway, I’ve got 3 songs for you today. Love is, shockingly, our first song by in-house artist /DJS\, who goes by Starshot on the forums. Stepfile is by ElectricWerewolf, but will not blow you away in difficulty… which is appropriate for a song named Love. It clocked in at a high 4 by my measure, with 515 notes spread out over 2:54.
Underground is a cool song by Sanxion7, although it is a bit repetitive. [Note: if this is a remix of another song, would someone let me know please?] I guess it is only appropriate that a repetitive song/stepfile be made by a guy with a repetitive username, blahblahblahblahblahblah. Difficulty is a 7, for the jump-gallops and the trilly stream bursts.
Finally, the long awaited return of my main man… the living legend… the Deckwrecka himself… Spook Goblin, aka For Great Justice! The last FGJ! song to be added to FFR was before I took over! I’m appalled at stepfilers everywhere! Not since May of 2006! Well, that just means that this file is 19 months in the making. The 2nd file ingame for xSerpentinex, Matador is a bit like Mother of God at the start, then streamy, then a bit like Evil Approaches at the end (only harder). I rate it a 9.
Enjoy the files, and make sure to give feedback in the discussion thread!

Love- Great easy file, I would've stuck with 8th jacks the entire way through (you go away from them in the middle) but other than that perfectly done.
Underground- Fun, not technical in any way but still pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was where you put in jumps on beat 4 of every measure in the gallop section, but that was the only problem that stood out. Song choice is meh, but the file is good.
Matador- Cool, nothing special, but fun nonetheless. I didn't like how you handled the part at 130-200ish combo, but that's just my opinion. The stream patterns were pretty cool.
Nothing astounding today, but three solid, fun files. Good work, guys.
I agree with dore, nothing spectacular, but enjoyable files. And enjoyability is the main reason I play FFR anyway, I play SM when I want technical stuff.
