my friends and parents ask me this question all the time "HOW DO U EVEN SEE THE NOTES THEY GO TO FAST AND TO MANY????" i jus tell them "its basicly like a language. its just like english or spanish. u hear the word or letter or read it and u jus know wut it is. its just like reading english. when ur reading this forum post its jus like us playing ffr" i think thats the best explaination of how FFRist's can read the notes btw idk bout u all but i speak fluent FFRese

People always ask me if I memorized it or something, because it's too fast for them to read.

I would say it becomes a matter of developing muscle memory and visual reflex for certain combinations of arrows and/or patterns such that we learn to map them to our fingers and also learn to adjust hitting speed depending on the tempo of the music the steps follow.

Haha. Well. I actually memorized pattern, I got used to see patterns repeating.

at first I just played what I saw, then get used to see the repetitions, Then I could play faster and faster without missing, then the jumps.... now stuck at jumpstreams xD

Just a matter of time, I like your reading comparison, I'd say it's pretty close

One thing interesting about this comparison is that study which proves we read words according to their first and last letters. For me, seeing patterns like runningmen and crossovers is sort of a similar experience; rather than reading each arrow, I see it and think "CROSSOVER! Do the pattern!" and my fingers just sort of react automatically.

Mine say pretty much all of the above.

Anything ranging from "How do you see the notes?" to "You are a god." Theres even an occasional "You memorized this beforehand, didn't you?"
