Back in the day Your levels would raise much more rapidly then today. Making it easier to get a high level.
They changed it so the higher you become the harder it is. [I'm not 100% sure. But I know It's not a hack.]

alain and reach are the 2 main people that this affects. as Moo said, the ORIGINAL mp level system didn't have a scaling effect, which made it easy to boost yourself to 50. the current system makes it impossible to get to 50 realistically without tens of thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) more users to push the pyramid higher. MP levels are higher than they used to be, and the average will continue to rise over time, but it's a slow process.

But, when the system was re-done, the few people who got really high levels legit off of people who got it illegit were allowed to keep their level. most notably, alain and reach. my level is just... cause i'm cool.
