Re: Any tips on PA?
I suggest experimenting with speed mods and screenshrinking to see what works best for you. Autofail really helps with timing if you can't see your judgment in FFR as it lets you know when you hit goods/averages. Also, try playing SM (stepmania) for a while. The timing windows are more strict in SM, the gameplay isn't choppy like FFR's is and you can customize the speed mod to whatever speed you like. If you play on judge 6 or 7 on SM for a while (you can find this setting in machine options) then your timing will most likely be a lot more precise. A nice, responsive keyboard can also help a lot with pa and a poor keyboard can significantly limit your abilities. Have fun, take breaks, be creative, and play a wide variety of songs, doing so can mean looking at the game in a different perspective which in turn will mean faster improvement.
P.S. After playing FFR for one month I started playing SM, played both games for a few more months and the first day I used screenshrink I went from about thirty goods no screenshrink to a AAA on Thinking Different after only playing a few days a week for four months, using a really mushy keyboard. Playing SM really helped out both my reading ability and my timing in FFR.
