The lowering of response time is barely changed wwhen changing to only 1.25. Seeing as one only reads the top part of the screen at such low speeds, response time isn't a matter. What is changed is the distance between arrows, which allows for better distinction between arrows and usually a better grasp of the beat.
That'd be amazing if someone played 2x and still screencut ...
I just tried that. And that would in fact be amazing. Although, I actually think it's really really impossible. When i tried a very difficult song i had 1-1-1-5-8.

LlamaSauceYup can screecut to lower than the length of the actual arrows on normal speed, I'd ring him up in a year (if he still plays) and see what he does.
No, it makes sense to me. As jecht3009046 said, the arrows are getting spread out more, which makes them easier to read. I've been playing on 1.5x lately, and been able to improve my rank on some rather difficult songs, getting new personal bests, to get a decent improvement in average rank. I'm not necessarily doing fantastic on everything, hard songs are still hard, but spreading the arrows out more has helped me read them a bit better, which seems to have improved my scores a bit.
