Whatever Happened to FFR Radio?

Right now I am holding my first radio show, and I hope to have music streaming 24/7 (Most of the time I can't connect to the server). I don't know why more people host these, it's easy to get up and going, and even easier when your done that part, there's just so many things to do!

Maybe Synthlight should integrate some form of contest into this again... the good old days...

Or try advertising a FFR radio event. That's usually when the radio gets more populated.

it died when we changed from shoutcast to icecast, even though icecast enabled us to have multi channel.

I used to listen to FFR Radio...but then I got good at FFR itself and started to play that more ^_^

Any chance of getting playlists played through Itunes or anything? With as many lists as I have in iTunes, a Radio show wouldn't eb a hard thing to do.

I don't know exactly what happened to FFR Radio, but as tasselfoot said, they switched to IceCast. At least now I can listen to it with Windows Media Player, because for some strange reason when they used ShoutCast, I couldn't get it to work (even with WinAMP)...

it had started dying before that .. but I think it would be really good to come up with some thoughts on direction at the meeting. It does need to come back to life.

Whats your issue with icecast again?

I tried using it but the audio didn't play through. I was connected, it showed what song I was playing and everything, but no audio.

Maybe the radio wasn't broadcasting any music? :P

Im still here on my radio, I think I have can have it going almost 24/7 now... I am going to try to get a mic hooked up, some crazy sound effects and voice changers and some subscriptions give aways! (P.S. Giving me some free 3 month gifts to give away would be purdy cool :P)

ya it has been pretty jakky. i cant even get onto it anymore without it freezing up my internet then i have to pull up an intire new screen. i cant even refresh. and i liked the radio to if there was only a way (witch there probably is )

shoutcast always worked fine.

Icecast has given me problems every time I've tried to use it.

Additionally, I'm trying to have a show tomorrow at eight EST. I hope the servers are up at that point.
