Hey everyone, after stepping a couple songs, my Mom put on some of her favorite music and played Teenage Wasteland by The Who, IMO one of the greatest bands of all time, so after listening to it, I thought that it would be the perfect song for FFR, if it's stepped probably going to be Very Challenging or higher, so I started stepping it, anyone else want it on the site? Here it is if you want to listen to it:
Who Likes the Who?

Re: Who Likes the Who?
It would be awesome to have classic rock but that's never _ever_ gonna happen. If it does, I'll eat my hat.

Re: Who Likes the Who?
why not? Classic rock is the best! All the new stuff is terrible, The Who, Led Zeplin, those were the best bands of all time, why doesn't anyone put some on FFR? We have a rock section with the crappiest songs ever, let's bring in a good oneComment

No, I mean it's not going to happen and I agree that it would be awesome. I love classic rock. Permissions would be too hard (hence the hat eating).

Yea good luck obtaining the rights to The Who. Should only cost, what, 25 million maybe?
edit: you might enjoy a little game called "Guitar Hero."Last edited by All_That_Chaz; 06-4-2007, 11:57 AM.Back to "Back to Earth"

If you, damanwithdaskillz, got permission from said artists to use their songs for FFR, I will personally stamp and send an envelope enclosed with six thousand dollars.
Why such an unrealistic award? It's an unrealistic goal.

My Mom knows a lot of people, and she used to know Pete Townshed, I might actually be able to get permission to use this one song of their's, I'll see, because I love classic rock, and we need to fill the rock system with less crap and more of the greatest bands of all timeComment

Re: Who Likes the Who?
*cough* Baba O'Reilly
*cough* Townshend
But, yes...it would be an amazing song to play on FFR (or SM) if done correctly. I see many triples in my head while listening to the song. At least for the intro.Comment

Re: Who Likes the Who?
dude i really doubt she knows people who could get permission. not even if you got pete to say ok would it be leagle. you need people from like international or atlantic to give the o.k. (or whoever they signed with). My Mom knows a lot of people, and she used to know Pete Townshed, I might actually be able to get permission to use this one song of their's, I'll see, because I love classic rock, and we need to fill the rock system with less crap and more of the greatest bands of all time
hey, but if im wrong and your mom has some serious connects, first ill poop my pants cause there will be good rock in our rock section, then ill send you another 6000 dollars, then ill play songs from the rock section alot more often.
i do like straight to video tho, that song is pretty sweetComment

Re: Who Likes the Who?
I'll see what I can do, I looked up some rules on using copyrighted music and ownership etc. and I talked to my cousin who is a patent lawyer, and my Uncle who does signings for movies (as in they sign a contract with him in order to copyright there movie and protect it from purgery and copyright) and it turns out that every song and album once copyrighted has exactly 20 years where it cannot be copied or used by someone not on the contract, BUT after twenty years, it has to be renewed, and so on for every twenty years, but if it is NOT renewed, then people have the right to use it and put it on their sites as long as it's a NON-PROFIT SITE, if FFR is a non-profit site, which me thinks it is, we might get lucky, otherwise I will spend my time to call whoever they signed with and see what I can do, because a lot of these songs would be great for FFR, we just need permissionComment

Re: Who Likes the Who?
Baba O'Reilly is the name of the album, not the song, and thanks for catching that misspelling of Townshend, thanksComment
