SM is way easier. How come I can AAA MacGravel's Uber Rave in SM on C500 yet I can't even get close to that on aperson's Uber Rave on 1.75x speed in FFR? I could go on and on with examples.
My PA in SM is ten times better, jacks are obviously easier, and in FFR I tend to miss for no reason whatsoever. I mean, seriously, I miss for no reason whatsoever where I should not. It's not that I just suck.
StepMania. I can't really tell what's happening when everything is nearly still. Animation will tell me the present. Also, you can map the keys in StepMania. I use A, S, L, and semicolon. I can't use the hotkey modifier for better comfort either, I have a Macintosh.
Genesis, Exodus, Rebirth, King, Reigner, Hellblade. Choose your destiny.
FFR is easier to AAA (if the song syncs right at load) but SM doesn't lag so you don't miss arrows anyway and you can AAA if you are good enough...Overall, I would say FFR.
FFR is easier to play but harder to master.
Theres like 213497624597 billion people who are supposedly soooooo awesome at SM, but then they turn to FFR and suck, so obviously it takes a bit more skill to be able to do well in FFR.
I can do some hard songs on SM playing spread on Justice, then I come on FFR and I can't combo anything slightly difficult. I'm hoping it's just because I use C400 on SM and it's C300 here.
i think that sm is ALOT easier because speedmods, song slowdown / speed up can change dificutly so it has a larger "perfect" timing window and... you can put it full screen witch i like >.<

See this is what happens when terrible players play terribly and beat even worse players and then start to think that they have valid builds/strategies/~*~theorycrafting~*~ etc.

You know you've played too much FFR when you're tempted to try it on your partner's privates.
^ Have thought about it, Have tried it, They throughly enjoyed it, Nuff said
Stepmania is both easier and more difficult than FFR.
Easier due to Cmods and everything else. The same song on FFR and Stepmania can be easier on SM as you can set the speed you want exactly and due to it being offline it should be more on-sync and generally easier to score on. That and there are no boos.
Harder due to the variety of songs. You can get songs on Stepmania that wouldn't even function on FFR or would be impossible to play. Thus, if you want it to be, then Stepmania can be harder.
