ok well i have a problem, the thing is i have 56k and i went and downloaded the downloadable version, when i start it up i set my level of quality to 3 because i have a 2.56ghz computer, and it really lags for me so i tried number 2 an average one and it really lags for me, and when i tried number one the arrows just appear out of no where, so i cannot even click them, whats the problem ?

Oh, and make sure your not running memory hauging programs, like kazza or something...

Well having 56k shouldn't affect the downloaded one...try deleting it and downloading and installing it, if that still doesn't work make sure you don't have stuff like Kazaa running, like Light said. Also, make sure you have some memory freed up. If your hard drive is full, having a fast computer isn't going to help much.Comment

ok i have tried all the above but my friend who is runing a 166megahertz computer is also not working is it the program it self or is there a way to by pass it, i also tried a program called "step mania" its not to bad but the thing says i dont ahve open gl on my vid cars and i do not have direct x 8.1 are those features in that program also affecting my computer?Comment

Lol, you bought a 2.56 without Open Gl? What are you running like, an Intel Integrated 82810 or something? Christ...well, that may be the problem, in which case you'll just need to buy a new vid card. Cheapest thing out there thats worth your money is the Nvidia GeForce 4 5200 128 mb which is...$40 I think, but I'd recommend the Radeon 9000 128 mb for $50. Not all that much better, but Nvidia kind of sucks.Comment

wel teh thing is ai am runing a intel pentium 4 but the vid card is a stock piece of junk prob about 2mb vid card, the graphics suck and so i am wondering for the other 56kers does it realy lag on your systems excluding that annoying 5 minute procedure to laod the damn thing, well ill go looking for the new vid card, by the wasy what is open gl?Comment

well you could always just get DWI, that will run on a busted video card perfectly.. and its about the same as SM just without all the crazy (pointless) features.. and marvelous timing.. but still recommended by me..
