Why is StepMania so much easier than FFR

Seriously, I can do very well on some VERY difficult songs on challenge, like V, while I suck at some comparatively easier songs on FFR.

Is it because SM is more lenient? What gives?

I'm tonnes better at FFR than at SM. You just have been playing SM longer than you've been playing FFR.

stepmania is easier because you can change the speed (so the arrows dont look glued together) and the frame rate its faster. plus, (good songs) the songs are on beat.

FFR is ok, just not as good as SM.

Because you are probably sticking to easier songs.

There are alot harder things in the realm of Sm,I personally started Sm after FFR, when Arch0wl.com was still giving me my fix of Packs.

There is still stuff in there that I can't beat.

so unless you really dive into SM songs, don't be quick to judge it.

yes but in ffr, you can miss almost a third of the arrows and pass, in SM missing 5 or 6 in a row is a death sentence.

I just said I play hard songs on challenge like V and Boy Girl Song.

ON CHALLENGE.

I guess the frame rate and speed helps. And are there more oppurtunities to get the arrows? SM has OK, Good, Great, Perfect, and Marvelous.

FFR just has perfect, great, good, and average.

FFR only has Perfect, Great, and Average actually. Do you screenshrink? If you do then I dunno maybe FFR is just a little offbeat laggish something or another on your computer while SM runs fine...

I suck at jacks in FFR and SM.

I mean, I dont know, something about SM just pumps me up. Might be the songs I am playing. Also, the everything is bigger, and things are faster, and there are twice as many frames to hit the arrows on.

And what the hell is screen shrink? Like turn down the resolution? I run at 1280x1024 when I play FFR. The resolution in SM is like 640x480, so maybe I should try this screen shrink thing.

Screen shrinking is amazing. Wow, this really does help me play ffr. Easier to see things.

I play FFR way better then SM. I can play Air on FFR and get 3-7 misses, but on SM I always get like 20 misses If I don't fail. I play a lot better with screenshrinking then with speed mods.
