I've been playing ddr and ffr for a couple years now on and off. I first started with using one hand and realized its limits with harder songs and switched to the the two hand spread style and got even better. I'd say im a pretty good player, I can complete most songs on the hardest difficulty although sometimes I find myself mashing on some of the parts I deem "impossible."
Recently I faced a guy in multiplayer who was level 20 and we played a game called Rose. I think the song is fun as hell but theres a couple parts in there which I once thought impossible but he seemed to combo it all with ease.
My question is how do people get to the point where they can read arrows that get so clustered like that and react in time? Songs like that and silence I find myself button mashing a large majority of the time and I would actually like to be able to read the arrows so I can these songs an honest shot. How do I get to that point? Does it really just develop over time or for these songs do people have to memorize the arrows for that particular song in order to complete them in that full combo fashion?
