I don't like plain music. If you ever looked at Ishkar's or whatever guide to electronic music...That's what I like.

Vocals are fine as long as they mean something. Not like "hey baby, we bumpin in da club, i wanna sex you, please gimma yo numba. i'm a hoochie with an infested coochie, best get up on this cuz i wancha 2 screw me" This basically means all rap lyrics=suck. American pop music, too. Or any non J/Kpop lyrics.

And yes, I made that up ohsnap 1337 rap hating skillz

Exactly. Only lyrics I like are heavy rock/metal. And NOTHING that EVER appears on MTV. If it's been on MTV, it sucks. Popular rock = teh suck. Good rock/metal = ownage.

You guys havent the least clue about music. You dont know jack sh*t about rap. So dont even begin to talk about, "Oh..Rap is sucks man. I have a mullet, I listen to heavy metal" Because it is bull sh*t and I am tired for close mind jerk-offs saying that. Listen to some old school/underground rap; listen to some spoken word. MTV plays crap, this is true, but not all Rap sucks. Be a little more tolerant. Okay?

I dont mind instrumental music if it is a form of electronica, but other than that, I prefer vocals.

Woah woah woah woah. What's with the hate for mullets?

Old-school rap? Never heard it. But I can say I've never heard a single hip hop/rap song I've liked. So there may be good stuff out there, but not that I know of.

Rap is lame. Old school Hip-Hop stuff is pretty cool. I'm just referring to modern day rap. I don't think the old school stuff is rap. It was the beginnings of rap, but still hip-hop.

I don't enjoy anything played on MTV or MTV2. I don't enjoy anything where the artist has absolutely no instrumental or vocal talent. They either have to be able to sing very well, or play an instrument very well.

By old school hip-hop, I mean stuff like what the Beastie Boys did. Threw a little bit of everything into the music, then let it flow with some nice rhymes. Stuff like that...is awesome. Most modern day rap/hip-hop lyrics are fueled by power, lust, sex, being better than people and/or gang related stuff. Sorry to make a generalization Jewpin. It's just that most of it that I hear is garbage. Now I just feel like a jackass trying to explain myself. I hope you got my point.
