That happened to me before; a popup stupid things. I had my messenger on and someone messaged me right near the end and I got owned on a classic song which I almost came close to getting ap erefect on.

Yea, messangers that are open are the worst for an FFR player if you didn't put an awaay message. I mean you could have gotten every single step perfect in FF7 and right at the end, someone IM's you asking for your webcam :P.
