Back from game break...back to almost square one?

Well...seeing how things are after 1 week of drastically slowing down on FFR (talking from 20+ songs a day to 1 or 2, if that)...Im feeling like a new player again.

Im getting my fingers tangled up in parts of songs that I could easily FC before my break....like that stream run in Rondo Alla Turca V2, Uber Rave end....meh

Plus side, Im looking at FC'ing CIA Rave soon, for the first time...=X

Back on the negative side...Im not deserving of my 58 overall rank...I have no FC on any hard songs just plain out suck for my ranking

Well...back to getting to where I was...hopefully farther....maybe achieve an FFR ability deserving of my rank

(Basically an I hate me post....no one in RL would listen to me about this, even if they're out of their mind...so bear with me here)

RE: Back from game break...back to almost square one?

      Sweet,
I took like a 6 month break that my computer forced me to take
it pushed my rank back from 20 to 35 (I would have thought more for sure), but I got it back down to 18

Rank is also based off of your total score (meaning, it goes up every game)
so just playing a lot will do you good for rank

it basically ranks how obsessed you are with FFR.
      Fun isn't it =D

      Your story actually sounds an awful lot like mine. Except my breaks were forced on me by my computer, not self dicipline >_>;

        How to put this....

It's not really that I'm obsessed with FFR, it's more that I'm obsessed with the fact of I've played over 3k games, but I still suck overall....I mean, you think there'd be some kind of improvement after I reached the 2k game mark...but there really hasn't been anything....I've basically just been playing to try and get to where I should be...but the "practice practice practice" is doing "nothing nothing nothing"

(It's really starting to sound like I hate myself, isn't it?....)

What usually happened for me is that I found a song that I could ALMOST do, but not quite, and I would work to do it and somehow get better

lets see, some of the ones are like
turbulence, BaloonF, End Night, maybe even gradeus will be one - seems like one now
Silence was one at one point too >_>

Certain things just click better with certain songs (changes between people), and then whatever clicked somehow transfers to other songs

(yes I got up to my skill level solely from FFR - no stepmania or anything (very minimal at least))

I took about a year break from FFR mainly due to the lack of content and school. I started to play a lot more once MP and the weekly updates came out. Thanks to Synth and everyone on the FFR Staff for giving me more interest in FFR in general. Yeah, I'm not that great at FFR, but I am one of the better one-handers out there. Maybe not the most popular one, but I try. I've been trying to learn to play with both hands(four fingers) but I'm not that coordinated. Just trying mainly because it is hard to do the 4,8,6,8,4 pattern as a one-hander.

Also what you may want to try is Step mania. Here have the potential for a bigger song database and can practice different avenues of you abilities, even making steps for your own music or whatever.

And it's always been my experience that when you take a break (say a month or so) and come back, your skills decrease but you can rapidly gain it back PLUS more. I don't know why but it's just what I've experienced.

Stepmania WAS once an option for me, strong emphasis on was >_>

My computer crashed a while back...now for some reason Stepmania won't play, nor will games like Final Fantasy XI....nor will .mpg files in my Windows Media Player

I have attempted contacting our computer repair person numerous times, but I have yet to receieve a response. Once I do receive a response though, I am requesting to have my harddrive wiped clean...start from scratch; have on my computer what I want on my computer

Unless...does anyone know what might be wrong with my computer? If so, is there anything that -I- can do to repair it?

Edit: Twice now I have broken 1k combo on CIA Rave (1016 & 1019), but no FC yet....Stepmania would be a good way for me to pracitce, I have songs such as Black Dragon and Quasar, many others to download once my computer is fixed. ~~~ Also, some of these songs are crazily hard for me as an indexer =P. Songs like Get Down, Turbulence, Nova Pulser...any songs with unusual streams, high doublestepping, or gallop-doubles give me trouble...How do any of you indexers who FC those songs manage it? =P

Stepmania improves you at a lot greater rate than FFR, yes, but you can still have fun on FFR without Stepmania for sure. However, once a lot of people start playing playing SM and SMO for practice, they find that they don't come back to FFR as much any more and start playing SM as their main game.

Seeing as I don't know how to save screenshots outside of pasting them to Microsoft Word, I can't provide proof of doing this quite yet (with that said, could anyone tell me how to save screenshots in my pictures folder?).

I've finally FC'ed CIA Rave...not my highest perfect attack, but: 973 perfects, 86 goods, 1 average.

Yeah, it's been done by hundreds of players; yeah, it's my first time FC'ing it, and at rank 58 overall; but I don't care =P FC'ing that has been a long term goal of mine, since I first +300 comboed that over a year ago
