Will someone help me think of an explination?

I keep telling this person that speed does NOT effect how fast you hit the arrow keys, but only how fast the arrows moves, while RATE effects how fast you hit the arrow keys.

He seems to not understand it how I put it, so what's a good way to tell him?
    Bye.

Tell him to download Stepmania. Play a song with the assist tick, then play it again on x2 with the assist tick. They sound the same.

This is going to sound weird but...
Well, explain it to him/her that it is like watching a rollercoaster going by.
If you stand closer to the rollercoaster, it is louder...
But If you stand farther away, it is softer.
But, the rollercoaster is still going at the same speed.
That doesn't make any sense... Oh well.

For reading speed: Imagine you are in an airplane in the middle of a storm. If you rise vertically at, say, 20 mph, you would see rain falling slowly. Then say you increase the speed to 50 mph and the raindrops appear to be dropping quickly. In reality, the raindrops are always falling at the same speed, but they appear to be falling at diff speeds depending on how fast you are rising.

For song speed: Now you are rising at a constant 20 mph. The raindrops are falling slowly, but then they physically start falling faster. You didn't change, the raindrops did.

Hmmm... Think of it this way... You're a dropping a baby... Say you're falling with the baby, it seams like it's not going as fast, but it's actually going very fast...

Still don't get it? Oh... Well... I don't know how else to explain it... :S
