help with SM - trills

hey..i'm getting pretty good at stepmania but i'm having problems with only certain kinds of combinations. the only kind of combinations i really have trouble with are something like ">>>>>>>>>>" (a lot of those in a row) or ">^>^>^>^>" or "v^v^v^v^" (a lot of those in a row, i think they're called trills?). do you guys have any tips to help me do these? i find them near impossible to combo. some people are saying i can't do them because i play 4 fingered, 2 fingers on the arrows and 2 on the 8,6 numpad. thanks.

I would agree with other people saying its hard to do that with 4 fingers(especially on the # pad) but keep working at it, youll get better in time.

The reason you suck at trills is because of your spread setup. The reason you suck at jacks is just that you aren't fast enough, so you gotta practice.

If it's a mega fast trill like in reality, just double jack.

gotcha....the ">>>>>"'s in AAA are the only part i can't combo and it makes me angry lol

oh thats what theyre called...then yeah right jacks lol.

AAA doesn't have jacks... it has mini jacks (2 arrow jacks) though which is what you're probably talking about.

Jacks and Trills seem near impossible when you play 4 fingered/spread, especially one hand trills (left-down, right-up, or whatever hand position u use that requires only 2 fingers in the trill)...I can't stand them, and you can't either, but all i can say is practice or ditch the simfile and move on. or Re-edit the steps so there arent any trills if it bothers u that much, though i doubt you'll get alot of praise if you edit a song and post a SS of a good score. If it helps, use ur middle finger in jacks. If you can, put ur hand into a fist except ur middle finger, and give ur hand a good violent shake. Practice doing that at a high speed and see if it helps improve your jacks. I have the jack/trill problem in the song Bite your Rhymes. grr.
