...I think it's because when I can see the arrows there's some psychological fear that makes me think "don't wait for it to be right on the arrow or else you might miss it altogether - hit it early!" However, without the arrows it's just me and the rhythm, and so there's nothing to put me off or make me feel uncertain. Does anyone else find this?

Dark mode, meaning you can't see the receptor arrows. And it doesn't really affect me because I look around the middle of the screen when I play, anyway.Comment
