First of all, if you use the arrow keys, 2468 makes no sense whatsoever
Second of all, there are such things as trips, we've established that, no need to argue
Lastly, I still want to know why that certain pattern is called "candle"
I've seen it a lot in streams actually, and I need to practice it because I always miss it T.T
I thought it was 2 for down, 4 for left, 6 for right, 8 for up. Though jumps are the same, some of the lingo I learned is different. (Must be regional differences.) Here is a sample of the terms I use. (By the way, what you do for triplets and quads is you hit the pad with your hands, dumbass.)
4286 or 6824 is called a run.
Any two steps where one is a sixteenth note off of the other is called a gallop. (Cowgirl, anyone?)
42624 or 48684 is a crossover.
Like I said, regional differences. This particular set is probably what everyone around Michigan uses, but I'm not sure.

1. You have the 2,4,6,8 correct.
2. Why the hell would you want to touch a pad with your hand? Do YOU know what's been on yours and others shoes?!
Yeah, I thought not.

Umm ok if you are afraid to get your hands a bit dusty from touching a pad with you hands you could either:
1. Get some sort of gloves and then no skin will touch it or
2. Buy the home version and get a new clean mat
But common do you expect someone to like have crap on there shoes or someone, the way you say it is like if someone steped in dog crap and smeared it over the pad, and in that case I wouldnt even touch it with my feet.

Or you could, you know, hit two arrows with one foot. You only HAVE to use hands on Pump It Up, since you can only hit 3 panels at once with your feet on PIU due to the arrow setup. On DDR and other 4 panel games, you can just hit all 4 panels at once by angling your feet.
It would be possible to do on FFR, but since it's an emulator of DDR, the same rules apply.
