at what point are you a furry? like, what constitutes "self-classifying as a furry"? I don't think my 'friend who im asking for' is a furry, but if 'they' had $1.0million dollars, they would 100% purchase a really nice kitsune fursuit at some point with that money (hypothetically). My 'friend' doesn't wanna get too lost in the sauce and doesn't engage in silly activities regarding the world of anthropomorphic characters, however 'they' think that the designs are really cool and unique and have a certain appeal that other character designs cant capture.

It's all a time investment thing and the line is subjective depending on how much value you want to throw into the idea.
So, if you wanna believe in something, I sure hope you consider that what you believe in will lead to a benefit in your life.

That's my 2cent about anything like that.

tldr; there's people who's into furry because it leads to drawing, socializing, creating animations, designing, talking about various topics etc.
So, as long as the reasons lead to somewhere good then it's cool.

Sounds more like vtubing but with a Kitsune themed character design might be more what you're looking for.
