YoshL was a big rival for me back in the day, but he never knew that lol. So was Sidek and GG_Guru! Found out almost 12 years ago that GG lived in the same area as me, one night we met and had a couple 4Lokos lmao. He was the only other black dude I knew on here and he was a top player then! Last year I keep seeing people joining from other games and immediately jumping ahead of me and pushing my rank down. It felt like I was fighting just to protect my rank from all these random new people so I guess those were my rivals. Nowadays this is much less common, both because we've switched to top 50 scoring and because I've gotten so much better myself.

I feel that though I remember when av rank was what was used to show in game ranks and so few people had every song played I think i was like top 150 or something on the site cuz of that

Then me and Matthia which I attempted right at the end of my career but my finger nerve injury was too much to keep up with the beast anymore

Revolutionomega and I were fighting over FMO AAAs for a while, and Zlyice and I had a fun back-and-forth for several months.
She's definitely better than I am now, but having those rivalries encouraged us to be better, but also helped foster friendships (underrated aspect of rivalries, imo).

Me, V-ormix, DayMan951 and shadow_1800 were all rivals at the time. We were trying to improve to catch up with everyone else who were D7 in FFR but focused more on getting scores in SM3.95. Eventually, around 2015, DayMan951 permanently quit the game, I left due to studies and repeated forearm injuries, and V-Ormix got banned. Idk what happened to shadow_1800.

I don't have any rivalries really, but I think Josemba wants me to compete with them on knocking out AAA's in the game. Maybe something'll come out of that as we keep playing.

i had a slight back and forth with snover when he was picking up jackspeed more often
i liked picking ideas up from attang when it came to jackstam/jackspeed charts, probably a reason i improved

post-pandemic:
etienne on index, very RA focused rivalry/back and forth, very different dynamics though, he was a lot better than me on slower files but i was more comfortable on faster files

hovarh (brisbane based DDR player, acc focused) and i would go back and forth on MA'ing 13s

no rival currently, but i suppose maybe things are just different these days
