    There is though.

To add on to my point, someone could be extremely good at J's/hs and be total ass at every other pattern. Their top 15 scores could be all Js/hs file aaas and could put them at level 91. Why would they be ranked higher than, let's say a level 84 player who is all around good at every pattern? The system doesn't care about that, or active players.

top 20 scores because no one has registered scores on it yet. Also, this is implying average rank, not skill rank.

Skill should not be determined by 15 scores that you have gotten. Skill should be determined by active scores. Someone who gets 15 top scores like Myuka, then leaves the site forever shouldn't be ranked number 1 if others play consistently. It's basically like saying someone who was once good at something stays that way forever.
Show me where in your 'top 30' scores that you score 'consistently'.

Based on my interpretation of your argument, you should actually lose skill rating and drop in rank because your 'active scores' are worse than your top 30 lol.

Not really an argument here unless you make a case for Grandtotal ranking taking the place for 'active players'. Doubt there's going to be a situation where the game just actively purges leaderboards because people aren't active. That moots the point of acknowledging really good scores on high levels of play for EVERYONE, regardless of their skill.

How about just play the songs that you're good at instead of complaining about others being good at a particular skillset different from your own?

Your arguments on ranking is basically boiling down to 'I play more than anyone else, therefore I should be on top of the leaderboard'. You are rank 21 in Average rank, and rank 4 in Grandtotal rank. That's absolutely devastating in comparison to a lot of people on the website, and merits their own bragging rights. But, wanting skill rank to be levied based on these other rankings is just not going to happen.

it's not a sensitive subject at all, it just seems like it because somebody came in and raised some downright ridiculous commotion about his way of thinking people should be ranked, which makes 0 sense.

Just keep playing, familiarizing yourself with different charts, improving, and you'll gain XP in due time. Or just try to have fun with the game and play everything without being hyper-focused on ranks for now.

I was just aiming to increase my amount of FC / AAA and that's when I noticed my rank was just getting down. I'm mostly pretty glad that the game still exists after all those years. I just wish I learned with the letter layout instead of arrow back then.

Sad that Stinger is not on this list somehow. It's not much harder than Midair Heatstroke imo, just requires isolating the bursts between 400-600 notes, and the ending.

Actually, that's exactly how it works in any competitive enterprise. Obviously Wayne Gretzky isn't the best active player in ice hockey but he widely considered to be the greatest hockey player ever.

Skill rating is the best way to gauge who the best players of all time are. If you wanted to be stingy and generate a list based on active players, perhaps you could have a Top 100 list that automatically removes scores that were achieved after a certain period of time. Then you'd end up with a skill rating that is contemporary. I don't think that's really necessary though.

edit: this could be an interesting topic for divisional placements assuming tournaments continue on and players are in their 50's and 60's and can't play at their peak level anymore. I can't wait to be senior FFR champion.
