Membrane or Mechanical Keyboard?

Okay this is a serious topic I'm having problems with.

So I'm possibly getting a computer this week or next week and I need to know which keyboard to choose. I like the membrane because it is quiet and has soft keys, but I also like the mechanical because it's faster in reaction but louder when typing. I need help because I can't choose between these two. Any recommendations?

mechanical, most people use brown or red switches, up to you if you prefer tactile or linear switches. i prefer reds

If you feel like you're actually serious about getting good then mechanical all the way. You'll never want to use a membrane keyboard again. There are threads on here too about choosing switch color.

My kb has "hybrid" and I like the feel and sound. It's the Razer ornata chroma. I've had it for a couple of years now and it's still going strong

Both are fine. I got some of my best scores with the logitech K120 membrane keyboard. Now im using a logitech mechanical and honestly i liked the K120 more for speed but the loud clicking is pretty dope so idk.

Not true. Keyboard type has very little on how good you become. Practice is the major factor here. ive gotten scores with a membrane that i cant come close to touching with my mech...

Unless you’re a high d7 player, it really shouldn’t matter. Just don’t get a wireless keyboard.

I have a mechanical keyboard with red switches, but can't get used to it, since I just stick playing with laptop keyboard :P
