    What's your FFR style?

Hey all you FFR players, got a question for you. I've switched how I play from using 4 fingers (2 left hand (index and middle) and 2 rigth hand (same thing)) to 2 fingers (index finger on both hands, I play DDR a lot so I treat it like it's my feet) I am doing better using the second way, but I want to try different ways. My question is, what style do you use? Thx, and challenge me if you want to, the names ultimatesage.

I 0wn all if I play 1 handed, but of course I'm also learning with 2 hands. I'm doing this because I just got really really good with 1 hand and then I wanted to be even better so I'm playing with 2 hands, hoping I will get better.

Well if you would stop mashing and believe that you can do it, then you can. You can do anything in FFR if you believe that you can, trust me.

You know, there are at least two other threads rather similar to this -- one with a poll about one or two hands and another about finger placement (which obviously covers one/two hands at the same time). I'd suggest that you look them up for additional responses.

Me, I generally use one hand. That's how I normally use the arrow keys and so it's a very natural thing for me to do. I've tried to use two hands because I suspect it may help at the higher levels, but it's very hard for me to find a comfortable position, especially on my laptop's keyboard. My hands tend to get in the way of each other so I'm usually reverting back to using one hand.

Dronak, there are tons of threads about this, probably 50, its just that so many are locked or knocked off the list because they lead to flam wars for some reason.

You're probably right, ToshX, but both of the threads I mentioned are currently on the first page of the list. When you're new to a board, it pays to look at what's already posted there first. That way you can avoid posting redundant threads and knocking other, unique threads down the list and out of sight.

Alright, for one, I am not new to FFR, maybe the board but not FFR. I forgot my rank but im in the low 1000 range. Also, only 1 person has actually fully answered my question. I was asking how you play it in detail. 1 hand and 2 hand isnt detail. Oh and Tosh, where can I find that penguin thing, thats friggin hilarious!

You talked about what you do and then asked about other people's "style". What is that exactly? Obviously you weren't clear enough if most people didn't give you the kind of answers you wanted. Apparently most people took it to mean one or two hands which is the major difference in how one plays the game. I think that was a pretty natural way to answer a question about playing "style". If you wanted to know which fingers people put on which keys, a much more detailed and specific subject, you should have asked that. Actually, being new to this board you should have read what's here before posting. Then you would have seen the thread called "finger placement" which already answers your question. How long you've been playing the game is irrelevant. If you're new to a board you should read first and post later. I've only been here like 2 weeks and I've already seen a number of topics and questions get posted over and over again. If more people would read first, post later, they'd find the answers to their questions before they even ask them. That was my point. And since you asked about a subject that was covered already, I told you where you could find the answers without making people repeat themselves. I think that's a valid reply because the answers already exist elsewhere.

Dronak my friend, you have to accept the fact that boards are going to be duplicated like this several times. And okay, I'll change what I asked. Can you please go into as much detail as possible on how you play FFR? I'm not saying full hardcore detail, just enough detail. Ex. My playing style is I use only my two index fingers. See, thats as much detail as needed, can provide more if you wish. Also, tosh, where did you get that penguin thing? It still cracks me up.

http://img31.photobucket.com/albums/...nguin-slap.gif is the penguin thing, damn people you must want that badly.
                              ----------------------
I play two handed with (right hand)index down, middle up, ring right, and with my left I play with the index as left.

With one hand I play index left, middle down and up, ring right with my right hand. My left hand just sits there and rots. As you notice, middle handles two keys. Assuming that there is both a down and an up, I move my middle finger up to the up key and I move my index to the down key. If there is a triple with down, up and right, I'll move my ring finger up to the up key to do it. If there is a quad, which there is only one that I know of(340BMP GABBER), then I'll use my left index to hit the up key. The only quad I know is a stream, making it harder on my hand :P

Ok thats about as much detail as you wanted, right?
