This game is all about personal growth. We all feel that we are bad at the game imo. A lot of us get to a certain point and plateau. Some of have been playing this game for over a decade and still can't get past a certain division(me). If you feel like you are progressing, then you are reaching your potential. Just keep playing and learning new patterns. Adjusting your scroll speed to what makes sense for you. Mapping your keys differently might help. Also, when you are trying to AAA a song and can't because you're mind blocked. Try playing the song on mirror then go back. It helps.Last edited by v0lcom; 06-18-2017, 12:47 AM.

Concerning the scroll speed, is there a value from which to increase in speed no longer works? Because I am looking for my speed but I do not know if I have to increase to have less information or decrease to have time to react ...Comment

Scrollspeed is all preference, generally as you start to play faster stuff you will need to increase it so the notes aren't clustered, but just increasing it for the sake of it before you are ready isn't going to help.
For example take a player like etienne who uses a fairly high scroll speed:
And then April, who uses a slow scroll speed

^While this doesn't detract from your point, Etienne's window is super super long while April/Eze's window is much shorter. The effect is similar to screencutting - if you measure the time each arrow spends on the screen before it passes the receptors, I'm pretty sure they're somewhat comparable

When I started playing stepmania I couldn't stand watching the arrow creep up the screen and trying to time when to hit it so I just increased scroll speed to the point where it was hitting the receptor the moment I could react to seeing it appear.Comment

Another thing that I do is make the receptors bigger - that works for me. Some people like them spaced out as well.Comment

Everyone has their own definition of good ....
Most players gradually improve ... Slowly ... Over timeee.... You might get a skill boost once in a while (like when u changed ur speed lol)
I still think i suck but im objectively reasonably skilled. Its all relative just keep playing a lot.
Then you have rare breeds from Mars like eZe that waltz into this game and just "get it" and improve at incredible rates. A lot of times I can't tell if I'm a bad player, or if the song I'm playing is just awful. It's pretty rare, but on occasion when searching through random songs, I'll come across some that are keyed wrong and are just annoyingly off-beat, or have different keys that have no place being where they were in that part of the song.Comment
