"Smarter" isn't the right word. Rather, it may help increase pattern recognition and reflex, improve fine motor movements with your finger and whatnot. It probably does jack to your brain.
i would also like to take this opportunity to shout out deadlyx39
on the one hand i feel as though your absence from these forums is a shelled victory for all ffr forumites however after careful examination of my internal feeling apparatus i have come to the conclusion that i do in fact miss your posts
* disagree on hand coordination.
Having stop playing for about 2 years.
switch from 4keys/hand to 2keys/hand (with two hands instead of j** off)
brains mud at first but somehow consistent play
that means that coordination is involved but is not that much developped.
* Reading pattern is heavily involved. In ddr it is clear that barrier is foot coordination. There is no problem even with hands involved. That is reading is ok, but analyzing patterns AND positioning foot is a whole new process.
* disagree on concentration.
Juste play chess or do math for a change... I dont think you ll laugh stupidly at anything after 1hour of ffr.
* passive learning of musical pattern
especially in classical category, by playing and playing again, notes arpegios, bass may be stucked in the head and one could play them later on instrument. But it is not exclusive to ffr. Still it works.
Overall yeah it gets you smarter, but if you compare to what you could do instead, your smart making is clearly in the negative.
I really don't get whats going on in "challenge for choof" -- what's the challenge? Am I going insane?
If I play FFR, will I lose my intelligence as I have seen in such a video? His mind is long gone without repair.
I think the challenge was to express rhythm through facial ticks, some others made challenge videos and they're all equally retarded.
props to choof for actually convincing these kids to go full sperg on camera though.
