How fast did you advance when u wer a noob?

I just started playing about a month ago, and in the past 2 days I finally got the hang of it and started passing "challenging" songs.

This is my first time playind any ddr type game.

I think I'm over obsessed tho:

    Yesterday:

    Total points: 10,380,000 [ish]

    Credits: 130 [ish]

    Secret songs: 5

    Today:

    Total points: 40,338,005

    Credits: 669

    Secret songs: 11

How fast did you advance when you were a noob? (mention if this was ur first time playing a ddr type game or not)

Getting credits isn't what makes you advance in skill, it's being able to clear harder songs. Once you can clear a 10 foot+ song without mashing, I'd call you "good at FFR".

I've been playing this for about a total of 8 months now, the new system for 6 months....though at many points I would play 10 games or so a month.

I'm at about a challenging rank. (150 combo at uber rave :P) But I went up fast. I got to Difficult in a week thanks to the PS2 games Frequency. Unfortunatly I sucked at that spot. Only recently have I gone up in awesomeness.

Play Stepmania if you want to be good at the key-tapping game.

FFR is leet and all, but until the millisecond timing windows come in, Stepmania is better. My opinion anyways.

Also I sucked at FFR when I started. Then I got DWI and started using indexes and i'm cool now.

hmmmm... I saw my younger brother playing SM a couple years ago... I played it and got somewhat hooked for a long time... I remember just playing a WHOLE lot... and I went from 3 footers to 6 footers to 8 footers to easy 10 footers... but once I mastered Max300 and MaxX Ressurection I didn't have any other "hard" songs, so it got boring and I stopped...

then this past winter, my friend who knew I had once been addicted to SM, showed me FFR... I hadn't played SM in like a year, but I got hooked once again.. I went all out crazy over FFR... I got to the point of being able to FC CIA Rave... Then when the simfile section of the FFR site was added and I found an avenue through which to get harder songs, I reverted back to SM... Since then, I've gotten much better... And even now, I think my APS is slowly increasing, so I'm still getting better... My max was around 12 aps a few weeks ago... now it's like 14...

I've been going along quite slowly by contrast. I've been here for several months, and played over 900 games.. i'm only JUST NOW able to past most "challenging" level songs (thought not too well, i should add). Tonight, I've found for the first time that i was able to beat 10 of 11 hidden songs, though barely. I think i should use the term "Survived" isntead of "beat".. =/

In some ways, I'm still technically a n00b myself, heh.

I had played DDR itself one or two times. just enough to endear me to a game liek this, though MAN was I horrible at that.. I should try it again sometime...

                      Yeah, thanks for the replies.

I wasn't sayin i was good, chardish. I just said that even I was surprised at how fast I improved with no DDR experience. Its good to know that there are 500 game "n00bs" out their too, though.

Playing FFR on and off for a year beginning in December 2002 got me to the point where I could FC the Yoshi Bonus Level.

Then I got Stepmania, and my improvement skyrocketed.

Lol, I advanced really quickly. I broke my own records basically everyday...I was so obsessed with this game. Didn't take me long to start smashing all the harder levels highscores, and getting really good at sm at the same time.

Yeah I got SM, I only hav a couple songs from 7th mix that me and my friend play on Ps2 I'm not really that good at the offline sims they seem to go slower than all the songs on FFR. I'm used to the fast arrows coming up in FFR. I'll get used to it tho and hopefully start D/Ling some of the originals. Dont start yelling at me like "but SM is so much beter than FFR". I know how there's more options and stuff I'll get used to it. [I didn't think anyone would still reply after my second post. I didn't need to hear that hear that Reach improved quickly thats a no- brainer (@_@)]
