    Words of Advice

    Please do not make step files that are 5+ minutes long. Some stat nerds like me do not mind playing hundreds of FFR songs, but I believe people can agree nobody wants to listen to a 5+ minute song that people may not like, completely pointless to make other than making a song with 4 thousand step notes.

                  Mute your music? This is a rather offensive post to musicians and to stepartists, you realise this right? There are many things you can do to circumvent these long songs and keep yourself happy

                  A) Bite the bulet and beast em
                  B) Mute the music
                  C) Close your eyes and go lalalalalalalal
                  D) Dont play the damn song and quitchabitchin.

                          This closed-minded attitude really holds no merit in this community. Stepartists chart songs they like, and players have the option to play them if they choose to. If you care about ranks, guess what -- you're going to have to play them like everyone else.

                          As a person who has charted two songs over five minutes, this definitely offends me. Since you're mentioning 4k+ notes, you're likely mentioning this because of T&J, as it's the most accessible 4k+ note file out there. My suggestion to you: don't make comments like this out of frustration.

                              Eh, I'm actually not even all that much of a fan of cuts, I prefer playing out full songs even if it contains some slower parts. When I started trying bemani-influenced games I found the ADD kind of weird, where it was rare any song would be over 2 minutes. However, when I came to FFR, I started avoiding anything over 4 minutes out of instinct - there are a bunch of songs I've left unplayed purely due to that. This is the negative mindset that the combo ranking system fosters.
