Raining Nails: did you change your offset appropriately? By default, a user with an offset of 0 on the Legacy/Velocity engines will have a global offset of 2 and a judge offset of 1.

Wow I never considered this - thanks! I did up the speedmod from 1.75 to 2.15 and that seems to be about right for me. Let's see if some of these other tips help... I really like R^3 overall.

How do you get R3 to respond like legacy? Like, I really really like this engine, but getting random goods on the middle amazing frame is a dealbreaker for me.

i'm thinking you need to change the judge offset. if that's the case, then i'd suggest playing without judge, at 60fps. play the song, and once in the results window, right click on the speedmod, and it should tell you what judge offset is best for you

Eyo Velo. I was wondering if maybe it would be possible to put the NPS chart that displays for each level into the background of the graph at the end of songs? kinda compare where you got goods in relation to where the density spikes are?

for collab files: when in the results window, and you click on the stepartists, there's a bit of a bug. the engine tries to search for the stepartists as a whole, not individually.

ex: for wieners, by wayward vagabond & bmah
searches for "wayward vagabond & bmah" in profiles, and obviously can't find it.
not sure how this could be fixed tho...

arc if you built an autoplay feature that you could pause, rewind, and fast forward i would love you forever

and skip to certain parts like a video. pause is key.

Eh, it'd be doable but how where would be a good place to access it from the menu? You could just watch someone's AAA replay >.>

I played Reality on Reversed and on Mirror, then decided to take away Mirror. Upon restarting, no arrows appeared.

When I put Mirror back on and retry, the arrows will appear fine, but as soon as I take it off, no arrows appear.

So far it's only happened in Reality. I play on 2.3x, 100 fps.

Hm, can you reproduce it always on Reality or did it only happen the one time? Odd though.

Yeah, a number of mods still need to be added... We'll see when I get a chance to add them :/

Also, a potentially impossible suggestion for arcnmx: a lot of people might be having issues moving over from Velocity due to visual differences that may be attributed to things like:

While not impossible, at that point the engine had mind as well just support full-blown themes - it's not quite a priority compared to core features. I do however believe that the default offsets should be changed to better reflect the other engines, along with an added auto-adjust feature.

Meh, the slope of the chart already shows the NPS unless you're missing every other note.

Could you get a Distant perspective mod going on like there is in Stepmania? Would make switching between the two much easier (I hope). Makes the arrows shrink as they scroll up so it looks like they're scrolling diagonally rather than straight up.

i've got a mac and never had problems w/ r3. not sure how you were doing what you did in the video, but what's the problem when you play a file?

In R^3 there is an editor, where you can see your notes to test delay and whatnot. (It's in options at the bottom)

Also, there are a few issues:

Any fast pattern (12)(34)(12)(34) at a high tempo (160bpm ish) will drop one or two of the notes, treating it as a good, and a miss. This also applies to any high speed roles, it will delay it causing a good or a miss.

I have my flash version updated to the most recent one... what flash are you using? are you using standalone or in client? Also, how is 60fps for you?

That is what I don't understand...

I'm using Flash Version 11.2.202.228 (12.0) and whenever I even attempt 60FPS it registers notes off.

EDIT: What I mean by that is even if I adjust offset, doubles on 60fps tend to lag, causing one becoming a good, or hands cause 1 to be a good and 1 average, or miss/boo.

I got ahold of my mac tower, and tried it here on 60fps with the settings above. This is a monster machine. Still no luck. Same issue. I... I dont even know...

you can rewind and jump to wherever you want in replays
