my laptop keeps splitting jumps

i usually play on my desktop which usually does not have this problem, but when i leave for university i won't have access to it so all i have left is my laptop

is this usually the fault of the keyboard, in which case i could solve it by getting an external keyboard, or the laptop itself? it's been happening intermittently since i got the laptop but now it's been happening at an increasing rate in recent weeks, and now it happens on about 80-90% of times i use it. changing my key setup has no effect

edit: also why did i pick up five credits for this run when it says credits earned: 4?

judging by a couple replay analyses of mine the same thing happens to me on my laptop. so i play stepmania where splitting jumps doesn't really matter. external keyboard might solve the issue, i've yet to try it

Get a USB keyboard. I have the same problem with my laptop keys, and when I got my keyboard, I'm finally playing to my full potential again for the first time in 2 years.
