    Re: Need a new keyboard

I'll read into the various switches and see what sounds the best for me. I do like slim type keyboards and can't use my BlackWidow for shit anymore after switching to my Turantula for so long .. RIP MA, Hi speed. Lol.

Kensington Slim-Type Seems like a good choice for now..

      Re: Need a new keyboard

I just got my illuminated for xmas and i absolutely love it, and it seems really durable. it's already helped destroy some of my old scores, and im not even fully used to it. So, it's a good playstyle keyboard especially if you like the thinness of it. I wouldnt advise against the Kensington, only because it seems a lot like the illuminated, i just wanted to make sure i was getting durability as well

Illuminated is still the best flat keyboard I've ever used. I really recommend it if you want to spend the cash.

Ordered Rosewill RK-9000BRI yesterday for 79.99. So That'll be here soon.

I feel obligated to tell you that the Kensington is absolute horseshit for fast jacks (180bpm+). As soon as I got it, my jack-heavy SM scores were absolute shit for the longest time; the kb I had beforehand was much better in comparison (but it's not being manufactured anymore).

Hmm, might go Illuminated then instead of Kensington Slim-Type..Can Illuminated jack okay? Jacks are a weak point for me

The only problem with that is that most setups won't work on the Illuminated, but it's minor.

o yes. Ghosting can be an issue.

If you play FPS games on PC, take note that W + Shift + Space does not work. It can be a hassle.

True, but again, it is minor. Especially since quads work in most traditional ffr setups, and as far as I'm concerned with the rest of my gaming, everything else works fine.

I found it very bad for jacks, and other reviews say the same.

Also yeah there was a bit of ghosting on the illuminated -- I had to change my setup but it wasn't a big issue.

If you're willing to spend over $100, buy a mechanical keyboard. They're just better for rhythm gaming. QPAD MK-50 and MK-80 are your best choice.

Also I have nothing but issues with the Razer Lycosa (Mirror edition), and recommend you avoid it completely.

                            Issues:

Keys start to stick after average FFR use (Playing every few days or so.)
Drivers it comes with are pointless and limit you more than help you. (Last I'd checked, I refuse to reinstall them so I don't risk having to deal with them)
The keys will literally indent into the keyboard which makes them unusable for ffr / sm but they'll still work for everyday typing. (My o key is like this and before I had it replaced the p key did the same thing, and I had it replaced 6 months after getting it, which for a 70 dollar keyboard I find completely unacceptable.)
Cleaning under the keys is a pain in the ass.
The finish wears off if you don't keep your nails trimmed to a point where it seems like you're cutting them every day.

                            tldr: Go anywhere else.
You got a horrible lycosa if you had all these problems. I used the same keysetup on my lycosa for 9 months with no issues
