it was INCREDIBLY hard to play that song with an offset of 0.....

The offsync'ness of it all was just tremendous... especially the parts that "seemed" on sync but were a full like measure difference almost screwed me up in Part 4 ...

just because you can put the arrows in there doesnt really mean you should. sure, there a lot of files that could be improved on, and we generally see a harder v2 of it. I cant remember the last time i saw a v2 that was lighter.

In this category you're not displaying the ranges from which certain aspects should be shown... For example (going on what I described

Total Number of Songs from 1-25 = 285
Total Number of Songs from 77-96 = 99

To be fair I even lowered the latter to 71 so - 71-96 = 181

There is STILL more then 100 more easier songs then those of harder songs.

Which relates back to what I said, there is a fine line for a "guru" player's standards to play at then those of "beginner to Intermediate" players.

The problem with this is again, as I mentioned before: 77-96 captures three difficulty ranges (ex 11-13), whereas 1-25 captures seven difficulties (ex 1-7). The difference between a 1 and 7 is considerably different from a 11 and a 13.

Considering the 1-100 scale, 1-10 captures five difficulty ranges on the old scale, compared to the three that 77 to 90 captures; the difference between scoring well on a 77 and 90 is huge... to a seasoned player that is capable of scoring on a 77. To a newer player, this will be a mashfest once they hit past 30+ anyway. The fact of the matter is this; there are 108 files that are 78+ or higher (78+ being the threshold that is safely assumable as "hard" for the community, including myself/others, as it includes FGO territory), but these 108 files capture only TWO difficulty ranges. Let's only talk about the 93 files that are fall in the ranges of 78 and 89 -- within a 12 point range, there are 93 files that are previously classified under the same name under the old difficulty scale (For Gurus Only). However, 12 difficulty points starting at the bottom of the scale covers FIVE difficulties (from Easiest all the way up to Standard). For newer players, there will be a substantial difference between a level 1 file like Free Space (max NPS = 3, average is ~0.87) and a level 10 file like Tricky Concert (max NPS = 7, average is 5.2, and has constant 8th notes + jumps + 12ths. Within 10 points, you're talking about the difference between a casual player AAAing, and a casual player mashing. That is HUGE.

i dont think new players wanna stick around anyway with all the drama and negativity on the forums, and the massive amount of songs might be somewhat intimidating lol

but yeah maybe a new easy songs batch is due

judges are all equipped to judge hard stuff, but I think some of them lose perspective on the easier stuff. Silvuh-style stuff is alright but there's something to be said for a thoughtful, understepped chart for a song. It's an audience thing that I don't think a lot of the judges really understand. That'll help there be more content for newer players, because people will be willing to make an interesting, easier chart for a 'good' song
