Except in Guitar Hero, it doesn't matter if you hit the note early or late, it's either you have it, or you miss it. Therefore the need of combo scoring.

The indeed system has separate high score tables for combo and raw scoring... not really an option for FFR unless we can get a lot more space, since the high score tables are already pretty gigantic.

Raw scoring will not be difficult to implant. All FFR needs is extra space.

About that free space thing, what if we get to display the two scoring types in the same page ??

I mean, like this :

(clicking on Raw score or Combo score will display the leaders)

If it's possible, we could even save more space by deleting the old raw scores table.

There is an easier solution. Buy a harddrive from this decade. Having only 20gb of space is really sad.

That's extra work to rip the step counts out of the score

which we already have

calculate the raw from the counts

which the engine is already calculating

and compare those.

which we are already doing in the dashboard.

The time issue is actually setting up the raw score database, and yeah, that'll take some time. But here we are focusing on the tournament and that is basically zero extra work to add raw.

I doubt the batch could withstand the demand on files (not quality) for two tournaments. Would rather play decent files instead of haphazard spur for something to publish for rounds (see: 7th official, nothing personal, just showing what happened)

Once a year switching between raw and combo would be fine.

Potentially possible, but it seems like there would be a lot of debate over this. For example, the tournaments are elimination style, right? So if there's somebody who placed, say, first in both scoring methods, would they win double the prizes (credits)? Or would the pot be split evenly between combo and raw scoring? How about token prizes? Other potential prizes (T-shirt, cash, etc.)?

P.S. Support for raw scoring.

They could just make it so that you can only join one specific scoring type method. I would assume the pot would be split in half, while token prizes and or potential prizes would require doubly high placing to achieve.
