Re: Songs of the Week (October 21, 2012)
Endless:
Easily one of the best "first charts" I've ever seen. I rate this even above my own. This chart is simple fun. This is the kinda stuff we need back in the game. Even if the song choice isn't something you like. Fantastic first chart in game Zak.
Cheerful Forest:
First half: Yay.
Second half: Bmah chart.
Countdown:
Teach me great one.
Poppin' Shower:
Didn't enjoy this at all really. Song choice is awesome though I give you that.
Walking On Water:
Musical preference aside, chart's not bad.
Shadows:
First off, making me refc a 3 minute song is ass. Jerks.
Also the chart's not really interesting. That weird ass like 4 14 1 14 or whatever it is, is stupid pattern wise.Comment

Re: Songs of the Week (October 21, 2012)
Overall, I enjoyed the releases this week. I did get a bit sleepy (speaking literally, because I was exhausted when I played these files) with Countdown and Walking with Water, but the files themselves are well done.
Favorites of the week are the two hardest files - Poppin' Shower and cheerful forest are both files I can see myself playing leisurely. Nice work to both of you guys.Comment

finally got a FC on Electric Daisy Violin and played Shadows. Fcd it 1st try and thoroughly enjoyed it except the weird 14 1 14 4 part mentioned before and the mini jacks that were thrown in there briefly. Lindsey Stirling is an amazing artist imo and ive been listening to her music for a good while now. we need more of her music on hereOriginally posted by nestlekwikBlue is my favorite color. Endless: I actually enjoy this, both the chart and the song though (except the middle part, the screechy lyrics give me a headache xD) Very nice first chart is game Zak, it was simple and fun, it made me smile while I was playing it :3 I look forward to more of your charts.
Poppin' Shower: I liked it. Flows nicely for the most part. Will play again
Cheerful Forest: I don't like this one...felt over-layered in some parts. Most of the bias is from me being bad at this song though.AMA: http://ask.fm/benguino

Re: Songs of the Week (October 21, 2012)
cheerful forest (bmah) - This file is just tricky for me. I like the challenge presented in it. Good chart overall. 7/10
Endless Tewi-ma Park (Zakvvv666) - Ah, a touhou song. I'll try to be as unbiased as I can on this. I like the little jumpstream action going on in it. I had to put down my volume as the high pitched voice of the singer is a bit too much. A well done chart. Congrats on the step author title. 8.5/10
Poppin' Shower (MrPopadopalis25) - I like this one. The chart seems to fit the music very well. I like the speed and flow of it. Nicely done. 8/10 (This week's personal favorite)
Walking on Water (Silvuh) - I like me some 12ths and 24ths in a chart. Makes chart flow very well for me. Straight forward. Nice job. 7/10Comment

Kinda hard to explain like, it's not a "bad" chart, but I just don't enjoy playing it myself. In short it's just not my cup of tea.
I bootlick for no one

I like Bmah
and some of his charts drive me mad (Gair / Anti Aeris)
Halogen
Most of his DF engine charts are awesome
But I ****ing hate Beware The Purple Water
That's just not how it works.Comment

Re: Songs of the Week (October 21, 2012)
Endless Tewi-ma Park is a pretty unbearable song to me (I'm sorry but after like 500 of them in FFR already I'm a bit sick of high-pitched loli voice wap music, but that's just personal preference)
That said I will agree with the assessment that it's a very solid first file. A few patterns could have been better, there was one part with lots of "hidden 1-hand gallop" -for lack of a better term- which is something you learn to avoid in JS. Was layered simply but appropriately and the decision to not put the minijacks at the end was a good one lol
Overall, file was quite fun... on mute.Comment
