How do i create a profile background?

Y'know,there's plenty of awesome picture behind the texts written on the peoples' comment walls,and i'd love to know how i make one! This way i could make a profile that looks more of my Gran Turismo 5 loving personnality!

Can you guys tell me how i do that? i'd be super thankful!!

^This thread has templates that you can open using photoshop or Gimp to have an idea of where the boxes and whatnot are located, so that you can create a more integrated background with the content on your profile.

Basically the process comes down to using image editing software to create a background/banner/avatar set you're happy with.

And you need to get your hands on a copy of Photoshop. (CS6, CS5, etc)
Learn the program, and have fun.

GIMP will also work, and is free, but you'll be a tad bit more limited. If you can find photoshop, go with that.

oi CS2 works fine, I've been using it since I started.

Also, if you're expecting high quality art, I'm going to just smash your stupor right now. It takes a lot of practice.

I suggest if you want it to be done in high quality you get it done by someone who still makes them-- that wouldn't be me.

I got curious one day and decided to get Photoshop CS5.1 and asked a few people on the site how to do things. Most of the time, I just experimented with the tools and what they can do. There's also tutorials on how to do things on Photoshop on Google and Youtube. <-- Learned 40% of what I currently know.

Just have fun learning how to use it. Nobody's perfect so don't worry about how bad or good it looks to others. Just make it to YOUR desirable look. If there's any technical problems such as bad render(s), mis-alignment issues, use of wrong tool/brush, etc... there are people/threads on the site that can give out advice as to how to fix this.
