solution

mods: take action on trolls and bullies and assholes, rather than sitting there eating popcorn. do NOT be afraid to hand out tons of 1-day or few-day bans. and delete useless troll posts, rather than entire arguments.

users: don't mess with people who care about the game or are trying to better the community. they are better people than you, period, even if you don't like their personality.

The one thing I've gotten from this thread is that you all take what people say here far too seriously. You can't handle some people being douches sometimes? I wish Grandi was still around here, you'd all be exploding with fury. Some people are always going to be assholes. Trying to create some sort of utopian community isn't going to work.

I'd like to ask for proof that TGB is mature. All I've seen is really immature posts about other members and people stroking each other's egos. I don't care how many of you guys are actually in love with TGB, that doesn't mean that it's not a haven for bad posts. The fact that it's centered around a lack of moderation is kinda the true reason it should be gone.

Also, about this FFR-Elitism going on here, I have seen you guys stoop to our level many times. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

In my opinion let people be people. If someone is going to be a jokester and stays within the RULES, who cares if some twelve year old flips out at that post. That's not your problem it's their own. If the person that flips out posts arguing back and it's within the limit of rules (doesn't get obviously offensive, etc) there's nothing really we can do other than ignore what we don't like it just like we would in real life. We can try to make it a more positive place but i don't think it'll work, there are always jokesters and social tweens

That being said, if someone isn't following the guidelines and/or is being offensive, ban hammer their ass.

You know, I have. Every community I have been to seems to be way more mature than FFR, true. So why aren't we doing anything about it? Since it seems to be dragging away members because they can't handle the FFR Drama anymore. Troll posts and arguments probably should be bannable, but it would probably be best if we didn't have to change the rules for it.

Seriously though nothings gonna be popular in here, there's only the "right" answer.

It's this kind of shit that goes against exactly what you're saying. If you want to better the community don't be a dick and this is one of those times. Don't tell people to get out of a forum in some hissy fit manner like that, it's disrespectful. People are going to say dickish things, learn to deal or maybe you just can't handle internet communities as ridiculous as that is.

Also just because you don't like them doesn't mean other people don't.
