I don't play religiously like I used to, and still suck at anything higher than an 8. Tourney might be motivation enough to play a lot again. I'll see how it goes. If it goes well, I'll remove myself from D2, if not, I'll remove myself from D3 ;P.

Hi I'm completely new to FFR forums, and would like to start taking part in tournaments. I don't really know how, so I guess thats why I'm posting.
In terms of my skill level, I have FC'd {arabian assassin}, {red alert}, Maple Leaf Rag, and a few other 9s and 8s. I'm currently working on FCing some 9s. What division should I sign up for?
I guess my sign up is 1hr late, so if I could still participate It would be appreciated.

Actually you know what take me out I'm not going to play with people putting themselves in divisions lower than they should be. Not even worth my time.

evnoir is d3 in our tourney and has aaad the 1st two rounds within minutes of getting the song to play. We were debating on a move to D4. But I'm not going to sit here and go through everyone just take me out.

Well thank you for bringing that too my attention, I removed him from the tourney for dishonesty, but was laughing in my face really necessary? I'm just a trusting person and ill take them for their word. If someone has an issue with placement ill look at it and take action, like I did. I find it disrespectful that you would laugh and quit because of this. But ok.

As for evnoir, my tourney was up before yours, meaning that skill was still tbd. I moved evnoir up cause it seems skill has returned. no biggie

1st off I wasn't laughing in your face I was laughing at mp3 player in D2 when he's way higher than that. The fact that he would say to be there amazed me.
I'm quitting because I'm up against people that I stand no chance against because they are in the wrong division. You're the tourney host and should be checking things out I'm not going to sit here and point them all out. We have over 100 participants and we checked everyone's levelranks plus were checking out replays each day till the tourney started. AJ even went as far as to check the weekly ranks on songs to figure out where people should be.

I think people put way to much strain on who they are put up against when really its a game that everyone takes practice to get better at.

Now I'll be D6 no matter what unless there are 7 divisions I'm the top division now. I have to practice. Don't drop because of misplacements.

Honestly, isn't he a part of DF? Shouldn't you be helping him? Just curious.

You are no where near getting raped in the DF tourney and your skill places you too high for D5. We're talking about people that are just being misplaced because he's not checking things. Like mp3 for example D2 when hes AAAing Fmos. This is a big difference here. You just AAAd Eradication which is an ex 12. You're more than capable and you know it.

I would play with fair placements but I'm not going to play against D4 or higher players when I shouldn't be and if he wanted help he could have asked for it. But there's like no checking going on at all right now.

No no no i meant going against people like Halogen in the previous tourney before the banhamma came. I was facing AJ, Luis, etc. etc. You know that. You know they would DESTROY me in the latter rounds due to their insane skill. Sorry for the miscommunication there, meant to say the previous DF tourney. All I'm saying is I'm not complaining regardless. If I was put in D7 so be it, It's more work for me. I'm happy wherever I'm placed.

The easiest way to solve this problem is to check out their level rank stats and place them based on that, not by what they tell you they should be in. Some people are going to lie and obviously tell you that, basically, they're not very good, so they want to be placed in D2. Seriously, just make your ultimate determinations by thoroughly checking people's level ranks. It's the most effective way to place someone, at least that I know of. Your tournament will run a lot smoother if you do so.

If anyone has other suggestions to help, I suggest posting them soon, as the tournament starts in two days. Just trying to help all of you, including myself, have a good experience in this tournament, not having everyone whining about where others are placed. The list just plain needs to be reorganized. MetalAtlas, just go through the list and check each person's level rank and place them accordingly. Simple as that. You'll be able to tell who is supposed to be in D5 pretty easily, obviously if you're seeing FMO AAAs on someone's account, that's a fairly big giveaway. Alright, that's all I have to say.

I hope this helped somewhat and makes the tournament run better.

EDIT: Also, why can people be in more than one division? Seems confusing and unfair to me. Just sayin'.

@hells: He knows how to run tourneys he's done them before. He was just deciding to trust everyone rather than check which upset me. call it complaining/whining whatever you want but the point is as a tourney host you should be checking these people out.
