Yes, it is something other than that post; there are actual algorithms done to figure out division placement in said tool, so it's more than just textual guidelines as you are implicating. This tool has existed for a little while now (not sure of the timeline but it's at least been more than a month, haha).

And I've never actually done placements before but I've been in enough tournaments to know what skill goes in what division.

BTW YoshL, my tool puts you in D6 because of your scores on Husigi (actually this one is outlier'd away, it comes up as a freaking 87), turbo, la camp, and molto.

It's an actual tool not a post with guidelines.

I don't honestly think you know all that goes into placing people. It's not so cut and dry.

Again I wasn't trying to be rude or anything I was just wondering. For something like that you really need to make sure you know what needs to be included and if you can program it to function that way before distributing it to people to use.

Well I know how to end all these arguments about YoshL's Placement. Here is my solution. Then you all can stop talking about this because the issue will be solved. Here it is: Stick him in division 7

I'm well aware my tool isn't perfect. I made it as a little project of my own, and also for it to develop into something usable since I didn't think there was one like it yet. Now that I know Prawn's tool is actually a tool and not that post, I feel like a total ass because it seems like I was trying to replace the established norm with an "improvement" that's actually a step down.

Was thinking I could make stuff easier for hosts if they could just stick a set of levelranks into a program and get a division for that person without having to manually run through every person...didn't realize you could already do that. Sorry

I really wasn't trying to make you feel bad or anything, I appreciate the effort. It takes a lot of testing to get things running just the way you need them to. I'm sure prawn's tool still has some things that could be tweaked, but that's why I tested it out with this tourney. Overall it was pretty accurate but there were a couple that needed to be moved around.

With prawn's tool you actually just add the person's name and it will bring up the data with the placement.

Finally decided to get started on this. I have to lol because I consider the D4 song almost easier than the D3 song. I was all tense and trying really hard to keep AAA for Euro Freak, but I was just kinda chillin' through Entry.

It's not public (yet) I'm not sure the full intent but I think that he'd want to make sure it's proper before releasing

It's honestly better to hand place people because no tool will be perfect. I used it to give it a try and see what the results were.

I'm going to also note that I feel it's important to learn how to hand place people. Since you're new it would be good for you to get an understanding on who should go where and why.
