Heh, I have a curse on this song. Have never FCed it. Somehow missed right at the end of the opening staircase. Got a bunch of random goods, except on the trills...pretty sure I AAAd those. Whut. The stream section is quite refreshing though.
Too bad things turned out this way. I was at least a bit interested in the 'tips' you proposed, 21992.
Maybe try to start a tournament when there are no other ones going on next time, 21992. I would say you were unlucky with site fallouts and the other tournaments going on that offer much larger prizes. I also remember not getting a private message in round 1, so that was also probably a factor, along with some other minor mistakes.
I would also still advocate updating scores in the OP instead of a spreadsheet, so people immediately see the progress of the tournament, and the fact that it's progressing at all.
If you organise everything well from the beginning and stick to it, I don't see why things shouldn't proceed smoothly.
I can't seem to find a good reason for you to go through the trouble of starting a tournament to help others with your tips, though. Why don't you just start an advanced 'how to get better' FAQ with some other players, if you want to help people get better?
I actually prefer spreadsheet scorekeeping. I mean, how hard is it for people to click a link? Same amount of reading as long as the SS is organized well. Plus I like that with a spreadsheet you can look at everyone's scores over the entire tournament, instead of all the records being completely erased every round (which is also bad if someone wants to look at the tournament a while after it's over).

Yeah , I do think that I screwed up big time. Well it was my first tourney and I know I can improve then. Considering the tournament is almost ending I'll just post the final round scores on the OP. My timing for the tournament was horrible with 2 others and all the problems I faced through winter break. I'll probably end up making a FAQ on tips and keep updating that with peoples suggestions. I just wanted to contribute to the community that I have been apart for 3 years. I love to teach and tutor people and see people get better.
