Flattering as that is, it's probably untrue. I have a curse in tournaments, in all 3 tournaments i've signed up for I've only made it to the second round haha.

Hahaha, I just thought of something...even if you were to get to the second round, it means that you guarentee the death of a person that you play in the first round...which may be me HAHAHA.

ill take pride in naming what i expect to be the top 5 in my division if rubix is allowed

I hope I dont get assigned too high. Being index i'll lose on most very challenging songs and just about every FMO except Club.

I'm just the average person here lol. Don't think of me as a guy who will dominate the board. Treat everyone equally in your division so that you get more self confidence. <-- Key to doing better.

Generally 8 weeks seems typical for the format and the number of people.

I'm probably an idiot for joining, since this is my first tournament... So just for clarification, you get pitted against someone else, you are given a song, then you have 1 week to beat your opponent's score by screenshotting the score and posting it?

No, that's not correct. The division is one big list of names, and each round everyone submits scores, and are ranked in one giant list. The top X people on that list at the end of the round advance, the bottom Y people on the list are eliminated. There is no direct one-on-one competition.

Just wondering, since it wasn't mentioned on the original post. If you get a AAA on the main song, does it guarantee you a spot in the next round?

For at least the first several rounds that will end up a guarenteed pass -anyway- but traditionally yes, a AAA gets you through the round, though Sprite- may well use a tiebreaker on AAAs in later rounds, you'd have to wait for an official statement on that.

So how do we know when a round starts? News post? PM? Forum post?

Each round of the official tourney tends to get its own stickied thread, and the rounds are going to be posted the same day, same time, each week.

And for everyone trying to predict what division they will be in, many of you are underestimating how high you'll be. Last official tourney I had about 12 AAAs, 100 FCs, and no tier points, and was put into D2 (And there were only 4 divisions at that point) I made it to round 4 before I was soundly eliminated by not even being able to FC my song.

Is it possible to have more than one tiebreaker?

Example: Person A and Person B AAA the same song so they have to do a tiebreaker.

The tiebreaker song is displayed, and both Person A and Person B AAA that as well.

Would another tiebreaker be issued or would random.org be used?

The only division where I'd be worried that might happen is D5, and D5 tends to have so few eliminations and such hard songs that tiebreakers don't come up often at all. If there's a tie at AAA in D2, and the tiebreaker song is an FGO, if both people AAA'd it in 24 hours, then something was terribly wrong and they should never have been in D2. The tiebreaker songs are designed to be too hard for all involved to actually break the tie.

70 AAAs, 340 FCs in only 0.5 years, top 8 Non-AAA are 10s-12s, and a 1300 levelrank with a TON of unplayed low-difficulty songs...I'd say you're probably looking at being middle-of-the-road D3, 4 rounds might be all you need to be honest *grin*

Its better to be in lower divisions then Expert >_> people like me can never win expert since theres people who AAA'd multiple FMO's in expert.
