I'd go with the Canadian Prime Minister MacKenzie King for the sole reason he was Canadian PM for the longest time and he'd communicate with his dead mother the seanses through his dogs. I mean come on what kind of ground hog could not fall for such an awesome PM!

I'd say Nixon...because like Nixon, by landing on his tail he saved his ass...and for Nixon to save his own ass he resigned, but not with out pain, like I'm sure the groundhog has, landing on your tail ain't soft, and getting caught for stealing info or w/e wasn't soft either, as there was/is still a lot of criticism

Probably Mao because whenever I fall out of a tree the first thing I think of is large walls which leads me to a Chinese buffet, so he probably would want to go to the Chinese buffet with someone, that someone being Mao.

Groundhogs are agents of world domination. As such, they would have to display affection towards those who have positive remarks towards such a goal. Dangerous figures such as Kim Jong Il and even George Bush may draw it's attention, but since it falls on it's tail, such choices will inevitably fall short of it's evil expectations (which rise when it's head is above it's tail for unexplained reasons). Dead people will not be chosen due to a lack of ability to aid in the groundhog's conquest so the most likely candidate must be Chinese President Hu Jintao.

Edit: Hu Jintao has recently stated that he will aid the groundhog in taking revenge upon the tree should such an event occur by putting the tree in it's rightful place as parts for dollar store drum sticks.

Zachary Taylor because he's an army man who served in the army for 40 years, and the president's day groundhog is sure to love men who have had a lot of action. He also had 100 slaves to do all the home chores for him, which is perfect for groundhogs because they like being lazy too.
