Naruto's Ninja Way is... interesting. There's a shitton more in this track than I expected after giving it a listen with good headphones. Definitely wondering about what the approach will be from other people in the group.

Forgive me for expecting anime dubstep rap to be cringe as fuck but this song is actually not bad at all.

Should be fun.

EDIT- after listening to it again, I can already see the file I'm going to make.
I'm 99% sure that, just like with Bulldozer in the last StepCon I was in, I'm playing it too safe stylistically, but what can you do.

holy shit Swamp Thing is a fuckin' amazing song how have I not heard this before wtfff

Lots of fun keygen-style shit in the intro of Ricochet, definitely a lot of room to show individual style with those arpeggios.
I forsee at least one person taking the same degenerate route I would and making them all split rolls lol
A little less rhythmic variation in this one than Naruto or Swamp Thing but how people layer should be interesting to see...

oof the intro of Subside has a lot of melodic bends and intense tremolo which I personally find really difficult to step satisfyingly, so good luck to people with that song.
The drum work in the fills and the breakdown give a LOT of room to layer differently and show creative burst patterns.
I definitely think the difference-maker on this will be how people handle the melodic sections. Cutting the intro is definitely an option people will have to consider.

Find a Way Out also has a pretty long and empty intro and interlude people will have to consider how they approach
The countermelodies in choruses have a lot of options for PR
Also I have to say I'm glad I don't have this song because I don't know if I could resist the urge to make a 350bpm stream dump to the bass rumbles that start at 2:20 lmao

I mean, I know exactly who Pegboard Nerds are, but it was definitely a song that was overlooked in the rather large catalog of Monstercat songs.

I'd have an absolute field day with Ricochet; that's absolutely the kind of thing I'd chart and have a fun time being different while still really effective.

Geez, Naruto's Ninja Way is definitely the powerhouse sector, there's a bunch of iconic and/or strong stepcharters that I've been pitted against for that one. I think I should still be able to bring out something fun for the song, though.
