Re: Denied Artist Permission Requests
can someone give me an in-detail explanation of how getting one's song onto FFR as a playable song is possible? people are telling me i need all these permissions and such, hence the link i got to THIS page specifically. I read that submissions are closed though, is there any way i can uhm, apply? to put my song on FFR ?
it wouldn't be for self promotion, i have a youtube channel no one visits anyway. i was told to put the song(s) on soundcloud and link it. but i just want answers :P

Re: Denied Artist Permission Requests
So this whole process of asking for permission applies to getting a song into FFR. But what if I wanted to make my own simfile pack (not to be used in FFR) of songs that haven't been approved and upload it to mediafire or Zenius -I- Vanisher. Would that be more or less allowed?

Re: Denied Artist Permission Requests
I'm unbelievably disappointed to see Skrillex in the rejected list.
He did a little collaboration with 12th Planet and Kill the Noise in the past called "Right on time".
I would give absolutely anything to see this song charted.
Complex polyrhythms, beastly jacks, even a bit of swing;
it's a song born for the rhythm gaming community, it would easily hit an 80 in difficulty.
Fuck Skrillex, bastard ruined my day.
Through the hoisery (sp?) would be such a fun chart.
Unfortunately I haven't heard any of their other songs, but I'm still hoping you get a "Yeah sure bro, take what you need."
They would make for such a nice addition to the site.

Re: Denied Artist Permission Requests
No response from Two Steps From Hell, looking at their homepage reveals why:
"Any inquiries concerning favors, free usage, permission for non-profit YouTube videos, School projects, non-profit films etc.. will not be answered. We apologize for this, but we have received tens of thousands of inquiries and do not have the resources to reply. Unfortunately Two Steps From Hell is no longer able to grant permission for these types of projects as it has begun to interfere with our business."
Can consider them denied, they will never respond to anyone from FFR unless they are offered $$$ or you can get someone like ParkOurFreak (Trailer Music World) who knows the industry personally to ask for us
I'm working on a bunch of other trailer music artists, the smaller more approachable studios tend to reply

Re: Denied Artist Permission Requests
Pending on 'Atlanta Records' (which is like ACDC / Flo Rida / Phil Colins / Led Zepplin)
I got into contact with someone a few days ago, and they were interested, and said they were going to look at FFR.
Cross your fingers.

Re: Denied Artist Permission Requests
If you're really talking about Atlantic Records, would that include Elektra Records ? (a subdivision of Atlantic Records-from what I understand). If so :
Aphex Twin
Anthrax
Down
Dream Theater
Justice
Kraftwerk
Kyuss
Metallica
Moby
Queen
Yngwie Malmsteen
John Zorn
Also there's Pendulum and Skrillex on Atlantic I believe, not much my thing but they would make some good files.
SebastiAn, Flux Pavilion, etc. on Big Beat Records (another sublabel).
Clutch, Dir en Grey, Muse on East West Records.
Lots and lots of big names on Atco Records (The Beatles?)
And Roadrunner Records : DragonForce, Gojira, Killswitch Engage, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Nightwish, Opeth, Periphery, Rush, Slipknot (all current artists among the most popular).
I mean, it's early, but I would be more than happy to see some of those in the game.Comment

This is a shot in the dark, i'm doing everything I can to get it to work. I can't promise anything though.
