Im running out of ideas on fixing drop V2 guys. Its like playing Ping Pong(Not sure if this is the right metaphor or analogy to explain this situation, but it came to mind). Im correcting everything being told and all of the sudden there are new problems because of my corrections.
kommi:
Dr.1010 - Drop (?) 4.5/10
-m5 they're 24ths not 16ths, same with m9 etc.
-jump patterns could be improved for better pr
-melody pr needs work also
-jump jacks were a little much imo and ruin the flow
Pat:
Drop (OperationStrawbarry) [<]
drop/10
I don't care for the beginning. it feels like it misses or hits fast bursts at its own discression (16ths/24ths missing here 'n there), also half the time it steps a 24th burst as 16ths
what's with the long jumpchains from m7 and m11 and later? they're not a layering of the two melodies
shouldn't m33-41 have layering?
m67-m74: it's the same thing over and over, do you want to step it as stepjumps or straight jumps?
m59-m66: not putting jumps to bass drum/plucking instrument properly
m75: minijack off the third beat?
hehe I get an excuse to use <
Could this be personal problems like what you perfer or are these legitamate problems?
Pat: a lot of what is stepped is being intended. There is nothing in this file that was a mistake or something I doubted. Ive learned that after 6 resubmits, the next being my seventh. Unless, you guys got my desktop version which is clearly wrong because Im still having that problem. The beginning is stepping everything to the obveious sounds man. There shouldn't be a mystry there. Remember, those 24/16 of whatever are to drum sticks from previous judges that asked me to put those in.
jump jack? WTF. i didn't put any jacks in this file... There should not be any jacks whatsoever or the same arrow being pressed repeatidly.
Ill do my best to correct some of these issues, but personally, I really dont find anything wrong with this drop file. Its very straight forward and should follow everything. Dont know how you guys are getting these complaints. PS: guess thats why Im not a judge. And if anything, its definatly better than the one in game. (sorry pat. I played it a couple of times for inspiration or ideas and the one in game is absolutly not that fun.)
PS: Im sorry if this post disturbed the judges in any way. Its just after 6-7 months correcting what the judges asked me to correct only for that file to come back with completly different issues because of what I corrected, well, that makes me want to kick a kitten really really hard (Its an expression people. Saying this before anyone starts QQing about me kicking a kitten.)
PS3: One more thing. Thx for being percise on where the problems are like what measure they are. That will really help with the revision process. I wont miss reading about corrections and guessing what the judges mean or where they had a problem with. Thx for that.
Patashu's note helped me a lot with GENTLEMAN. I changed my mind. I'll resubmit that file instead of Groovin' Plains. I also love how patashu and kommi liked GENTLEMAN but not jx, and jx +'d Groovin' Plains but patashu and kommi didn't like it that much (due to missing steps/jumps on snares/sync etc). Well, I changed the offset of GENTLEMAN (yet now the notes seems a wee bit early to me) and I used less jumps.
here is what I don't understand:
Patashu- (GENTLEMAN) m111: missed a 16th triplet at the start of this measure
kommi - m85 you missed a few 16ths on the hi-hats
really? I don't quite hear anything in m111 and I doubt I missed a few 16ths in m85. I actually thought it was overstepped lol. Other than that, I'm glad patashu gave detailed notes about the file and still liked the file enough for it to earn a +. I did everything patashu told me to fix, so hopefully patashu will + it next time, and maybe Tass will accept it.
Patashu - m10 on (Groovin' Plains): I disagree with putting jumps to the snare accompanied by nothing else (elsewhere it's fine since it's accompanied by other instruments more prominently), I'd do it melody + bass/snare myself. also the ending shouldn't randomly get harder
I personally feel that if I don't have the jumps to the snare the feel of the steps in those measures would be dull. Also, the ending isn't really THAT hard for it's difficulty, although I know what you mean. If I do resubmit it, the least I can do is remove only the 8th jumps. I also changed the offset. Along with GENTLEMAN, the arrows feel a little bit early. Maybe it's just me.
samurai: what are you listening to the song on? headphones or speakers?
I'll look again in a sec
edit: also, the beginning drifts from offsync to onsync by like m20 or so, don't just change the gap (I mean do that anyway since the gap is off but) make sure that's correct throughout
edit 2: found a 16th triplet you missed. m91, off the second blue note. after the long hi-hat trill you sometimes step the triplet following it and sometimes don't, so just make that consistent
edit 3: and you definitely missed the 16th triplet commencing m111. it should be sandwiched in between the two jumps
If it were because the file was bad, I'd be fine, if the file had too many errors or was not fit for FFR, that makes sense,
But "good file, no to song" when we have this horrible death metal **** on FFR and Tass just chooses, for the first time in Judging history, to get rid of a file +'D BY EVERY JUDGE and say "File's fine but no to song"
That's why, my file got a better score by JX than 80% of the batch, and had the same score as 3 of the files that got in, and was rejected just because Tass hates me, that's why I'm complaining
It wasn't rejected due to bad song or file, just Tass' prejudice against me
QQ more, buddy.
I can't say that you're making yourself look bad because you've already proven yourself to be an enormous idiot.
The whole I'm 'redhead/daman/stavie' is ****ing old and tiresome. As far as I know, Tass has no reason to hate redheadinferno (or whatever the **** that name is). Isn't he the one who stepped the song? Why are you saying Tass hates you? The only person who can say that would be daman, which leads me to believe that daman stepped it instead.
Regardless, your life isn't going to come crashing down around you because your stepfile didn't make it into the queue. Worse things have happened - like cats getting abused.
If it's a good file, then submit it to the FFR database, submit it to the next StepMania DrumPack, submit wherever you want, but seriously, just shut up about Tass rejecting it because he's prejudiced. That's such a petty and ridiculous reason for Tass to reject a file and it doesn't make logical sense anyways because he accepted stargroup's files forever and I know for sure he doesn't like stargroup.
If anything, it is YOUR fault for the rejection for one of two reasons:
1. At some point, you acknowledged that daman is on that account. (Assuming Tass is prejudiced)
2. You picked a drum solo to step with no melody. Poor song choice for FFR. Period.
