laggy's really good

quality of players have improved tremendously since last year. even on songs where avmisses didn't matter like EHHS WAY more people can do well on them. obviously not every great SM player is gonna come dominate on FFR, most of them hang around on ODI where the general attitude toward FFR is "**** that gay ****".

FFR is still competitive, but it's kind of different now. Now it's much like hey i've unlocked oni aaa'd a fgo etc. type stuff, but times ago it was like very hard to do well on much of anything and, well, I don't know how to put it really

Yeah, you'll notice that as you get BETTER over time, things aren't as hard.

Well, it's not just that. People get better faster than they used to.

I'm working on sims that make fingers cry so hopefully that should help with the lack of hard levels.

I mean, there is a veritable ****load of hard-ass sims on SM, and maybe 10-20 on FFR, depending on what you call hard. Some people like to play hard-ass sims all the time.

The thing is, I've been here quite a while, over four years, and I can tell you this "FFR is too easy now" argument is bull****. Back when I joined, there wasn't even a dance2, a secret, or even a purchased section, let alone tokens. Almost all of the songs would be considered easy by the standards of the average level now. The only really hard songs were few and far between, like hellbeat. Back then, many considered uber rave to be a decently hard song.

Now we have ****loads of files like Choprite, Pretty Green Onions, and many more songs I could list that kick the old songs in the ass when comparing difficulty.

There's really no contest.

It's hard to compare because the definition of hard has changed from meaning passing to FCing to PAing to AAAing.

There is no contest saying that simfiles have gotten harder overall.

It's just that people get really good really quickly.

That's why people say FFR is easier than it used to be. Especially if you count the avmiss fix.
