    Question!!
A while ago tass wanted a submission to have 2 seconds of silence added to the beginning of a song because of the sm to ffr converter cutting it off. Is this still needed?

Yes. Notes will otherwise get cut off.

Are all the old submitted files still part of the batch? As in my Saikyou OX Keikaku file etc. that were sent in before the site crashed?
It's getting better all the time
I used to get mad at my school (No, I can't complain)
The teachers who taught me weren't cool (No, I can't complain)
You're holding me down (Oh Oh)
          Turning me round (Oh Oh)
Filling me up with your rules (Oooh)

Do I put the 2 seconds in on just the mp3 or the steps as well?

If from 0:00 to the part you put the first note < 2 secs, you should put silence on the mp3 (otherwise first a few notes will be cut).

              or don't put notes on 0:00 - 0:02 part.

go check the reviews thread. and yes. it was rejected

                also
After we get the list of accepted files, I will compile them and add silence to anything needing it. This is mostly because I never remember to add the silence myself B)

do it right or else every file you add silence to will have a wrong offset

To be specific, 2 seconds of silence is generous, and the arrows should start playing after the "START!" text scrolls away. You can add, say, 1.5 seconds and the whole file will still play, except the arrows will begin before the "START!" text fully disappears.

Also note that Audacity seems to add a small fraction of silence as well; if you saved a song in Audacity with no changes, you'll notice that it will leave an approx. 0.020 sec addition of gap as you try to sync the song in the editor.

And of course, don't add silence if no arrows fall within the first 2 seconds.

I'm well aware of having to adjust offset after adding silence lol. I did used to be a pad chancellor afterall and 2 seconds of no notes was a heavy requirement

2 seconds of no notes was too much for you for pad charts? Most pad charts (like the officials/ITG: Rebirth, etc.) have like 5-8 seconds of no steps in the intro.

I'm thinking more in terms of the free to dl stuff anamanaguchi puts on his site/8bitpeoples, and that's what any permission getting email should focus on
look up creative commons license. 8bp is with such a license so anamanaguchi's power supply album would fall under this category.

scott pilgrim music would be out of the question as far as copyright is concerned. let's send them a friendly email or somefin
